Cumberland, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2007 BRIGHAM, U2970 HIGH RIGG, BRIGHAM, U2489 DEVONSHIRE STREET, WORKINGTON AND C2001 SEATON ROAD, SEATON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. C2007 Brigham, from a point adjacent to the property Oak Howe, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 420m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2007, A66, A5086, C2027 Eaglesfield and C2039.

Duration: From 17 February 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/13395)

2. U2970 High Rigg, Brigham, from a point adjacent to No. 59 High Rigg, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 30m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. Duration: From 24 February 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/13516)

3. U2489 Devonshire Street, Workington, from its junction with the Peter Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 40m to its junction with Kelly Street.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Devonshire Street, John Street and Harrington Road. Duration: From 25 February 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/13480)

4. C2001 Seaton Road, Seaton, from its junction with Princess Avenue, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 110m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Seaton Road, Lowca Lane and the A596.

Duration: From 7 March 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0830 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/13366)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 17 February 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
