The Derbyshire County Council (Various Roads, Wirksworth Town) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Stopping) Traffic Regulation Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that, on Thursday the 23rd January 2025 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on Monday the 3rd February 2025 and its effect is:To prohibit WAITING AT ANY TIME by vehicles (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING) ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Access Road To Barmote Car Park
East side
from its junction with Coldwell Street in a northerly direction, for its entire length.
West side
from its junction with Coldwell Street in a northerly direction, for its entire length.
Coldwell Street
North side
from a point 164 metres east of its junction with North End Road in an easterly direction, to its junction with Alton View.
South side
from a point 88 metres south-east of its junction with Blind Lane in a south-easterly and then easterly direction, for a distance of 99.5 metres.
South-west side
from its junction with Blind Lane in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 42 metres.
Cromford Road
East and south-east side
from its junction with North End in a northerly and north-easterly direction, to a point 38.5 metres north-east of its junction with Meerbrook Drive.
North-west and west side
from a point 24.5 metres north-east of its junction with Meerbrook Drive in a south-westerly direction, to a point 136 metres south of its junction with Old Lane.
Crown Yard, Wirksworth
North-east side
from its junction with Market Place in a northerly direction, for a distance of 8 metres.
West side
from its junction with Market Place in a northerly direction, for a distance of 8 metres.
Dale End, Wirksworth
South-west side
from its junction with Harrison Drive in a north-westerly direction, to its junction with The Dale.
Market Place
North side
from its junction with St John's Street in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 53 metres.
South side
from its junction with St Johns Street in a south-westerly direction, to its junction with West End.
Meerbrook Drive
North-east side
from its junction with Cromford Road (B5036) in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 15 metres.
South-west side
From its junction with Cromford Road (B5036) in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 18 metres.
St Johns Street
East side
From a point 18 metres south of its junction with St Mary's Gate in a southerly direction, to a point 51 metres north of its junction with Wood Street.
West side
From its junction with Market Place in a northerly direction, for a distance of 5 metres.
The Dale
South side
From its junction with Dale End in a westerly direction, for a distance of 26 metres.
Wash Green
North side
From its junction with Alton View in an easterly direction, for a distance of 8.5 metres.
Water Lane
North-east side
From a point 60 metres north-west of its junction with Hannage Way in a south-easterly direction, to its junction with Brooklands Avenue.
South-west side
From a point opposite a point 60 metres north-west of its junction with Hannage Way in a south-easterly direction, to a point opposite the north-western kerbline of Brooklands Avenue.
West End, Wirksworth
North side
From a point 6.5 metres east of its junction with Bowling Green Lane in a westerly direction, for a distance of 78.5 metres.
South side
From a point 5 metres east of its junction with Yokecliffe Lane in an easterly direction, to its junction with Market Place.
Wirksworth Hall Gardens
North-west side
From its junction with Coldwell Street in a southerly direction, for a distance of 7 metres.
South-east side
From its junction with Coldwell Street and a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 7 metres.
Yokecliffe Lane
South-east side
From its junction with West End in a southerly direction, for a distance of 5 metres.
To Prohibit Stopping on School Keep Clear Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
Wash Green
South side
From a point 187.5 metres east of its junction with Blind Lane in and easterly direction, for a distance of 37.56 metres.
TO RESTRICT WAITING BY VEHICLES MONDAY TO SATURDAY, 8AM TO 6PM (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING) ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
Coldwell Street
North and north-east side
From its junction with Harrison Drive in an easterly and south-easterly direction, to a point 111 metres east of its junction with North End.
South and south-west
From its junction with Harrison Drive in an easterly and south-easterly direction, to its junction with Blind Lane.
TO PROHIBIT STOPPING BY VEHICLES EXCEPT BUSES ON BUS STOP CLEARWAY AT ANY TIME ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
The restriction is made under Regulations issued by the Secretary of State and contained within The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 (as amended).
St Johns Street
East side
From a point 33 metres north of its junction with Wood Street in a northerly direction, for a distance of 18 metres.REVOCATION
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be
revoked.
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (ON-STREET PARKING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND
RESTRICTIONS) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2016 is revoked insofar as it relates to:
LIMITED WAITING 40 MINUTES NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR MONDAY – SATURDAY, 8AM – 6PM
on St Johns Street
East side - from a point 33 metres north of its junction with Wood Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 3 metres.
The opportunity has also been taken to make administrative changes to the descriptions of the existing prohibitions and restrictions, along the roads listed above. This did not change the restriction type, nor it’s extents, this was an administrative exercise to make the item descriptions clearer to understand, locate on the ground and enforce.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, at Wirksworth Library, Town Hall, Wirksworth, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 4EU during opening hours and on request by emailing place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk quoting reference Z3212, until 6 weeks after the Order is made until the 6th March 2025.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 23rd January 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
