Waltham Forest, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions due to Works

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST (LBWF)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

THE WALTHAM FOREST (FOREST ROAD E17) (JUNCTION CLOSURES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow for works associated with the development of the Forest Road corridor to be carried in a safe and efficient manner.

The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from:

i) waiting or loading in Forest Road E17 – between its junction with Hale End Road and Wood Street;

ii) entering, proceeding, waiting, or loading for any purpose, at any time, within 20 metres of the junction of any road adjoining the section of road contained in paragraph 2 i) above.

The Order would come into operation on 10th February 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

THE WALTHAM FOREST (FOOTWAY CLOSURE) (E17 REGION) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 23rd January 2025 it made an Order to allow for the resurfacing of footway and other works associated with public realm improvement to be carried in a safe and efficient manner.

The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, at any time, to:

i) restrict pedestrians and cyclists from using the footpath between Brunner Road E17 and Courtenay Place E17;

ii) prohibit vehicles from waiting or loading in Brunner Road E17 (east-west arm, south side) – opposite No. 85;

iii) prohibit vehicles from loading in Brunner Road E17 (east-west arm, south side) – opposite Nos. 1 - 60 Fairlie House.

The Order will come into operation on 10th February 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

THE WALTHAM FOREST (UPPER WALTHAMSTOW) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow for highway construction and resurfacing works to be carried in a safe and efficient manner.

The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting, or loading for any purpose, at any time in:

(i) Fyfield Road (Rd) E17 – from Winsbeach to Greenway Avenue;

(ii) Avon Rd E17 – from Fyfield Rd to Bisterne Avenue;

(iii) Bisterne Avenue E17 – from Avon Rd to Fyfield Rd;

(iv) Hillside Gardens E17 – between its junction with Fyfield Rd and a point 20 metres from the said junction;

(v) Winsbeach E17 – between its junction with Radbourne Crescent (southern arm) and Fyfield Rd;

(vi) Upper Walthamstow Rd – between its junction with Fyfield Rd and a point 50 metres from the said junction.

The Order would come into operation on 3rd February 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

THE WALTHAM FOREST (VARIOUS ROADS) (STREET LIGHTING) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION ON WAITING AND LOADING) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow for the installation and removal of street lighting by Kier Highways LTD and UKPN in a safe and efficient manner in various roads (TT4(25)).

The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to restrict:

(a) vehicles from waiting or loading for any purpose in the roads or parts of roads mentioned in Schedule 1 to this Notice between 08:00 hours and 16:00 hours Mondays to Fridays; or

(b) pedestrians from entering and proceeding in any footpaths mentioned in Schedule 2 to this Notice between 08:00 hours and 16:00 hours Mondays to Fridays.

Auckland Rd, Brierley Rd, Cart Lane, Cross Rd, Connaught Rd, Faversham Ave, Farnley Rd, Forest Approach, Forest View, Garfield Rd, Glendower Rd, Inks Green, Lammas Rd, Long Deacon Rd, Nation Way, Oakhurst Gardens, Queens Drive, Rale Lane, Richmond Rd, Ropers Avenue, Seymour Rd, Springfield Rd, Stanley Rd, Underwood Rd, Valance Ave, Warren Ave, Whitehall Gardens, Woodedge Close

Schedule 2 (E4)

Footpath – Pole Hill Rd to Sunnyside Drive

The Order would come into operation on 6th February 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

Additional Information

Vehicles waiting or loading in disregard of the aforementioned Orders would be removed.

The prohibitions mentioned in all notices above would not apply in relation to any vehicle being used:

(a) in connection with the said works; or

(b) for ambulance, fire brigade, or police purposes (if the works allow).

Any designated controlled parking spaces situated in the roads or parts of roads affected by any of the measures set out in the notices above will be suspended.

Signage will be placed in advance of any works in the roads mentioned in the aforementioned notices, which would give more specific details on the exact dates of the prohibitions, effects of any temporary traffic management, and diversion routes as necessary.
