High Street, Theale - Temporary Road Closure and Clearway due to Mains Replacement

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND CLEARWAY) ORDER 2025
West Berkshire District Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding over and stopping on High Street in Theale between its junction with Hoad Way and its junction with Crown Lane.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Hoad Way, A4 Bath Road, A4 Bath Road/A340 Pangbourne Road Roundabout, The Green, Church Street.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for mains replacement, connection and service works on behalf of Southern Gas Networks.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 27th January and 22nd April 2025. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected.
