Shropshire Star - Various Road Traffic Restrictions

SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -
PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION

NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 3rd February 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling at no more than 30mph on B4368 between Clun and Clunton 
Date & Duration: 5th February 2025 for 3 days 
Purpose: Severn Trent Water-new water connection 
Alternative Route : Not applicable 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Birch meadow Road, Broseley 
Date & Duration: 6th February 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Virgin Media/Svella -Excavation in carriageway to clear blockages 
Alternative Route : Duke Street, Barber Street, High Street, Dark Lane, Birch Meadow 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Caynham Road, Caynham
Date & Duration: 5th February 2025 between 09:30 to 15:00 
Purpose: Road Closure-Airband-Engineers to access existing utility infrastructure to install fibre cable for customer connection 
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East through Knowbury, A4117, A49, Sheet Road, CaynhamRoad 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Farm Lane, All Stretton 
Date & Duration: 8th February 2025 for 2 days 
Purpose: Road Closure - Washout install Alternative Route : Shrewsbury Road, Starr Lane 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Halfway House Lane, Eardington Date & Duration: 7th February 2025 for 1 day 
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Remedial Works-remove fretting area at end of patch, re-compact and relay 
Alternative Route : B4555, B4363 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using High Street, Shrewsbury 
Date & Duration: 9th February 2025 between 10:00 to 16:00 
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works to rectify defective reinstatement within carriageway. 
Alternative Route : Beeches Lane, Town Walls, Murivance, St Chads Terrace, Claremont Bank, Lower Claremont Bank 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hope Bagot Lane, Knowbury 
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 for 2 days 
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water Small Sluice Valve Renew 
Alternative Route : Caynham Road, A4117, B4214, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North, Unnamed road North West 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Leek Street, Wem Date & Duration: 9th February 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30 
Purpose: Road Closure - Repair defective manhole frame and cover. 
Alternative Route : High Street, Mill Street, Drawwell Lane 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Old Chirk Road, Weston Rhyn 
Date & Duration: 4th February 2025 between 09:30 to 14:30 
Purpose: Road Closure - Road Closure is required for the safety of engineers for laying duct. 
Alternative Route : Station Road, A5, Old Chirk road 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Old Whittington Road, Gobowen 
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 for 19 days 
Purpose: Road Closure - To excavate the footway/carriageway and complete electrical mains lay to supply the new development. 
Alternative Route : B5009, By Pass Road 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Lyneal Lane, Welshampton
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 for 5 days between 07:30 to 16:30 
Purpose: Bridge repairs 
Alternative Route : Lyneal Lane, A495, B5063, Unnamed road South and South West, Lyneal Lane 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Shrewsbury Road, All Stretton 
Date & Duration: 8th February 2025 for 2 days 
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Small Washout Install 
Alternative Route : B5477, A49, B4371, B5477 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Shrewsbury Road (South East ofA483), Oswestry 
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 for 4 days 
Purpose: Road Closure - Customer funded new high voltage connection - excavation work to lay ducting across road. 
Alternative Route : A483, A5, Shrewsbury Road 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Swan Street, Broseley 
Date & Duration: 5th February 2025 for 1 day 
Purpose: Road Closure-Virgin Media/Svella-Excavation in the carriageway to install new ducting 
Alternative Route : High Street, Harris Green, Woodhouse Road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Treflach Road, Trefonen
Date & Duration: 6th February 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 14:30 
Purpose: Road Closure - MJ Quinn are to renew a defective pole in the verge and do cabling activities. 
Alternative Route : Trefonen Road, B5069, A483, A495 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Cound and Harnage, Harnage
Date & Duration: 4th February 2025 for 1 day 
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works to rectify defective reinstatement. 
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West through Cound, A458, Shore Lane, Unnamed road South West and continuing North West 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Preston Gubbals Road and The A528, Bomere Heath 
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 for 4 days 
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, short comm pipe install in connection with lead replacement scheme. 
Alternative Route : A528, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road South East 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Stapletonand Church Pulverbatch 
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30 
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for pole testing work. 
Alternative Route : Newhouse Lane, Unnamed road North East through Longden, Annscroft and Hook a Gate, B4380, A49, Unnamed road North West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from Hinford toA495, Ellesmere 
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 for 39 days 
Purpose: Road Closure - Repairs to a pair of disused rail bridge abutments 
Alternative Route : A495, Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road North West towards Hindford 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from Horseshoe Inn to Powys boundary 
Date & Duration: 6th February 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00 
Purpose: Road Closure - Provide new pole in verge. 
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West and South West, Unnamed road South, Winllan Lane,Unnamed road North and North East 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Whittington Road, Oswestry 
Date & Duration: 5th February 2025 from 18:00 to 06:00 6th February 2025 
Purpose: Road Closure - Manhole frame and cover 
Alternative Route : Unicorn Road, Windsor Road, Harlech Road 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Woodhouse Road, Broseley 
Date & Duration: 3rd February 2025 for 2 days 
Purpose: Road Closure-Virgin Media/Svella -Excavation in footway and carriageway to install new ducting 
Alternative Route : Harriss Green, High Street, Swan Street
