What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Middlesex Road and Suffolk Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.23) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 27th January 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
MIDDLESEX ROAD

From its junction with Eastney Road to No.1 Middlesex Road.
Duration: 27th January 2025 to 31st March 2025
SUFFOLK ROAD
From its junction with Eastney Road to No.1 Suffolk Road
Duration: 17th February 2025 to 31st March 2025
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate installation of raised crossings.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 27th January 2025 to 31st March 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between Monday to Friday 07:00 - 17:00. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place on one road only at a time as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Middlesex Road, Prince Albert Road, Devonshire Avenue, Eastney Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
