What is happening?

Hertfordshire County Council:

(Temporary Closing Of B156 Goffs Lane, Cheshunt) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Goffs Lane, Cheshunt from its junction with the Rosedale Way/ B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way, A10 (Great Cambridge Road/unnamed road/Turnford Link Road), A1170 Great Cambridge Road and B156 (Halfhide Lane/ Brookfield Lane West/Flamstead End Lane/ Churchgate Road/Goffs Lane).

The Order is needed because utility service and reinstatement works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Malting Lane, Braughing) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Malting Lane, Braughing from its junction with B1368 Green End south eastwards for a distance of approximately 185m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B1368 Green End, Ford Street and Malting Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Hammondstreet Road, Cheshunt) Order 2025 

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hammondstreet Road, Cheshunt from its junction with the Argent Way roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Peakes Lane, a distance of approximately 1000m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Hammondstreet Road, Darnicle Hill, Newgate Street, Newgate Street Village, Carbone Hill, B157 (The Ridgeway/ East Ridgeway/Plough Hill), B156 (Station Road/Cuffley Hill/Goffs Lane/ Churchgate Road/Flamstead End Road), Longfield Lane and Dig Dag Hill.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Station Road, Westmill) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Road, Westmill from its junction with A10 (unnamed road) south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with C16 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 494m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A10 (unnamed road/Puckeridge Bypass), Mentley Lane West and C16 (Great Munden/Nasty/unnamed road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of B1368 (Hay Street/Green End), Braughing) Order 2025 

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1368 (Hay Street/Green End), Braughing from its junction with C32 (unnamed road) south eastwards, southwards and south westwards to its junction with Hull Lane, a distance of approximately 1068m (“the length of Roads”).

An alternative route will be via B1368 (Hay Street/Dassels/Dassels Hill/ unnamed road), B1038 (unnamed road/Hare Street Road/High Street/ Baldock Road), A10 (Buntingford Bypass/unnamed road), B1368 (Buntingford Road/Wickham Hill/Station Road) and B1368 Green End.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 30 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Hebing End, Benington) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hebing End, Benington from its junction with Whempstead Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 137m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. 

However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of The Bus/Cycle Lane Situated On The East Side Of B176 High Street, Waltham Cross) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all public service vehicles and pedal cycles from using the bus/cycle lane situated on the east side of B176 High Street, Waltham Cross from a point 13m south east of its junction with Trinity Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 238m (“the Bus/Cycle Lane”).

An alternative route will be via B176 High Street.

The definition of a ‘public service vehicle’ has the same meaning as in Section 1 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981.

The definition of a ‘pedal cycle’ means a cycle powered only by foot or hand.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Bus/Cycle Lane.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Bus/Cycle Lane.

(Temporary Closing Of Little Berkhamsted Lane, Little Berkhamsted) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Little Berkhamsted Lane, Little Berkhamsted from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.18 Little Berkhamsted Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Little Berkhamsted Lane, Robins Nest Hill, B158 (Lower Hatfield Road/unnamed road/Low Road/Essendon Hill/High Road), Cucumber Lane, Berkhamsted Lane and Little Berkhamsted Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In Church Lane, Hunsdon And The A10 Great Cambridge Road Slip Road, Cheshunt) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Church Lane, Hunsdon from its junction with A414 Eastwick Road north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Hunsdonbury Lane, a distance of approximately 1782m.

An alternative route will be via A414 Eastwick Road, A1170 (Pepper Hill/ Amwell Hill/ London Road/Viaduct Road/Bridge Foot), B1004 (Star Street/ Widbury Hill/Ware Road), B180 (Hunsdon Road/Widford Road/High Street) and Acorn Street. 

2. the A10 Great Cambridge Road slip road, Cheshunt from its junction with the northbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road north westwards to its junction with College Road, a distance of approximately 37m.

An alternative route will be via A10 (Great Cambridge Road/unnamed road/Turnford Link Road), A1170 Great Cambridge Road and A10 Great Cambridge Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
