What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C684 THE GREEN, HAWSTEAD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C684 The Green, Hawstead from Oaksmear to Old Forge Cottage to facilitate overhead wire transfer. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Lawshall Road, Bury Road Lawshall, Melford Road, Road between the 7439 and the C685, Aveley Lane, Bridge Street, the A134, Cullum Road, Nowton Road Nowton, Bury Road Nowton, Hawstead Road, Nowton Road Hawstead, The Pound, Bury Road Hawstead and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 23/01/2025 from 8am - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1549 PUMP LANE, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U1549 Pump Lane, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Garland Street for 30 metres westbound to facilitate the disconnection and replacement of electrical mains. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Northgate Street, Looms Lane, Well Street, Orchard Street, Church Row, Cannon Street, Garland Street and no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 23/01/2025 - 29/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 CHANCERY ROAD, WEST END ROAD AND THE B1075 PRINCES STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • A137 Chancery Road, Ipswich from Princes Street to West End Road
  • A137 West End Road, Ipswich from Chancery Road for 127 metres westbound
  • B1075 Princes Street, Ipswich from Burrell Road to Civic Drive.

This is to facilitate crowd control during a football match. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Burrell Road, Stoke Street, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Civic Drive, Handford Road, Ranelagh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/02/2025 1pm - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3330 CHAPEL LANE, GRUNDISBURGH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3330 Chapel Lane, Grundisburgh from Briar Cottage for 20 metres northbound to facilitate providing a safe working area for engineers to access existing box to clear blockage to provide fibre cabling. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Chapel Road, Park Road, Ipswich Road, Rose Hill, The Street, Meeting Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 23/01/2025 - 24/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF BARNHAM) (BYWAYS 1, 2, 5, 6 AND 8) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

This order, which came into effect on 09/08/2024 closing Byways 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8, in the Parish of Barnham, has been extended in force by the Minister until 09/02/2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure is required due to safety reasons and potential re-surfacing works due to damage. If the order had not been extended, it would have been due to expire on 09/02/2025.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF WEST STOW) (BYWAY 6) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

This order, which came into effect 09/08/2024 closing Byway 6, in the Parish of West Stow, has been extended in force by the Minister until 09/02/2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure is required due to safety reasons, and potential re-surfacing works due to damage. If the order had not been extended it would have ceased to be in force on 19/01/2025.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF ELVEDEN) (BYWAY 1) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

This order, which came into effect 09/08/2024 closing Byway 1, in the Parish of Elveden, has been extended in force by the Minister until 09/02/2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure is required due to safety reasons, and potential re-surfacing works due to damage. If the order had not been extended it would have ceased to be in force on 19/01/2025.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF MILDENHALL) (FOOTPATH 30) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

This order, which came into effect on 01/09/2024 closing Footpath 30, Mildenhall from the junction with Mill Street for 210 metres westbound to the junction with Footpath 35 has been extended in force by the Minister until 01/09/2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure remains required to install new fish passes between the two weirs. Without extension the order would have been in effect until 01/03/2025.

The diversion route remains as Mill Street to St Marys Church, through Church Yard, Church Walk, Bridleway 1, Footpath 35 and vice versa.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF BARKING) (FOOTPATH 30) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

This order, which came into effect 02/10/2024 closing Footpath 30, Barking from 705 east of the junction with Footpath 28, Barking and Footpath 29, Barking for 10 metres, has been extended in force by the Minister until 02/10/2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure is required in the interests of public safety due to a damaged footbridge. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period. If the order had not been extended it would have ceased to be in force on 10/03/2025.

The diversion route will be Footpath 31, the B1113, Lion Lane, the B1078, Footpath 27, Footpath 28, Footpath 30 and vice versa.
