(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE) Cold Overton Road Parish of Oakham CP Order 2024
Rutland County Council District Council (‘the Council’) has powers under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) to make traffic regulation orders affecting the adopted highway within the County of Rutland.
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council now proposes to make an order entitled the Rutland County Council District Council (Temporary Diversion of Vehicular Traffic) Cold Overton Road Parish of Oakham CP Order 2024 as the Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
The effect of the order will be that during the dates and times specified below all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the length of road known as Cold Overton Road from Long Row to junction with Parkfield Road to allow Thomas Bow, on behalf of RCC, to complete surfacing works. Parking will also be suspended along this length of road.
The duration of the Closure and parking restriction shall be for a maximum period of six months from 26th February 2025 or until the works are completed.
It is anticipated the works will take 4 days. The closure and parking restriction shall come into force when the appropriate signs and diversion route are erected on site.
The duration of the Closure shall be as follows: from 26th February 2025 to 1st March 2025, between 19:00 and 00:00.
The alternative route during the closure will be via the route shown on the attached plan and as shown on https://one.network
The alternative route during the closure will be via the following streets: Cold Overton Road, Oakham Road, The Carriageway, Somerby Road, Knossington Road, Westmoor Lane, Melton Road, Barleythorpe Roundabout, Main Road and Barleythorpe Road with a reciprocal route.
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
