What is happening?

(ELLEN’S GLEN ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/08
The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate a safe working area for culvert repair works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle; or (b) walk or cause or permit any person to walk on the footway on Ellen’s Glen Rd, from the point the vehicular access to the staff only car park at Liberton Hospital meets Ellen’s Glen Rd, north-eastwards to the bollards southwest of No. 25; & (c) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of Ellen’s Glen Rd, from the north-eastern kerbline of Lasswade Rd, northeastwards to the south gable end of No. 25. Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected section of road described in (c). There is no available diversion with respect to closure of Ellen’s Glen Rd, where local access will be maintained. The alternative route for pedestrians is via Ellen’s Glen Rd, Lasswade Rd, Malbet Park, Malbet Wynd, Stennis Gdns & Ellen’s Glen Rd.
The order shall have effect from 27/1/25 to 25/4/25.
