What is happening?
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is:
Ramsey Road, Kings Ripton Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-088
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ramsey Road, Kings Ripton as lies between Biggin Lane & Stockingford. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1090; Bridge St, Woodwalton; Raveley Rd; Raveley Rd, Great Raveley; Upwood Rd; Upwood Rd; Ramsey Rd, Little Raveley; & vice versa. The proposed order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19/2/25 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
Church Lane, Leighton Bromswold Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-101
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Church Lane, Leighton Bromswold as lies between Sheep Street & Bettons Hill, Barham. The alternative route for vehicles is via Sheep Street; Barham Road; Bettons Hill, Barham & vice versa. The proposed order is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 10/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/2/26 whichever is the earlier.
Huntingdon Road & Low Road, Fenstanton Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-159
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Huntingdon Road & Low Road, Fenstanton as lies between Solstice House & Vernon House. The alternative route for vehicles is via High St; Cambridge Rd; A15; & vice versa; C181; Westwood Rd; Swavesey Rd; A1307; A1096. The proposed order is necessary to facilitate carriageway maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/2/25 & continue until these works have finished on or before 28/8/26 whichever is earlier.
New Road and Tick Fen, Warboys Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-174
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along New Road & Tick Fen, Warboys as lies between The Willows & Field View Farm. The alternative route for vehicles is via A141, B1040, Warboys; Station Rd C116; Puddock Rd, Raveley; Tick Fen Rd & vice versa. The proposed order is necessary to facilitate water meter repair & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 5/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on 4/9/26 whichever is the earlier.
Barham Road, Buckworth Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-172
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Barham Road, Buckworth as lies between Manor Lodge & Buckworth Rd, Barham. The alternative route for vehicles is via Buckworth Rd, Barham; The Village; Leighton Rd; Sheep St; Leighton Bromswold; Sheep St; Clapton Rd, Hamerton; Church Bucken Rd; Hamerton Rd, Buckworth; Hamerton Rd, Barham; Barham Rd & vice versa. The proposed order is necessary to facilitate carriageway reconstruction works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 2/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 17/2/26 whichever is the earlier.
Warboys Road B1040 & Pond Close, Pidley Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-191
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Warboys Road B1040 & Pond Close, Pidley as lies between The Limes & Fen Road. The alternative route for vehicles is B1040; A1123; B1090; A141; B1040 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
Crown Street, St Ives Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Crown Street & Merryland, St Ives Temporary Revocation of One-Way Traffic Order – Order 2025-201
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Crown Street, St Ives as lies between Bridge Street & Broadway. During the period this Order remains in force Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets, St Ives) (One-Way Traffic) Order 1987, Roads & Lengths of Road in the District of Huntingdonshire, Parish of St Ives, Merryland south to northeast is hereby suspended. During the period this Order comes into force Cambridgeshire County Council (St Ives Town Centre Pedestrian Zone and Traffic Restrictions) Order 2003, Lengths & sides of road in the District of Huntingdonshire, Parish of St Ives, Authorised to be used as Loading Bays between 08:00am and 6:00pm on Monday to Saturday, both days included. Merryland (north side) from a point 20 metres west of Bridge Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 60 metres west of Bridge Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 20 metres west of Bridge Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via Merryland. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 19/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 18/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
Toll Bar Way, Sawtry Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-202
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Toll Bar Way, Sawtry as lies between Bill Hall Way & Coppingford Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via Bill Hall Way; Fen Lane; St Andrews Way; B1043; Coppingford Road & vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway, junction improvements & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 30/1/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 29/7/26 whichever is the earlier.
Station Road A1123, Bluntisham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-203
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road A1123, Bluntisham as lies between BP Service Station & Station Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1123; A1421; A142; A141; A1123 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sewer connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 17/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 16/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
Somersham Road B1040, St Ives Road B1040, Wheatsheaf Road, Woodhurst And The Heath, Somersham Temporary 40mph & 30mph Speed Limit – Order 2025-225
Is to impose a 40mph & 30mph speed limit along Somersham Road B1040, St Ives Road B1040, Wheatsheaf Road, Woodhurst & The Heath, Somersham as lies 30m from the cross roads junction in all directions. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate junction improvements & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 17/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 16/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
Parkhall Road, Somersham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-255
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Parkhall Road, Somersham as lies between High Street & The Trundle. The alternative route for vehicles is via High St, Feoffees Rd, Norwood Rd, The Trundle & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate drainage improvements & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 28/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
Ramsey Road, Bury and Wood Lane (B1096), Ramsey Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025-283
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ramsey Road, Bury and Wood Lane (B1096), Ramsey as lies between Ramsey Road, Upwood and Tankers Lane; Little Whyte and Muchwood Lane respectively. The alternative route for vehicles is via Upwood Road – B1040 – Up Mere Road, Ramsey Heights – Upwood Road – Longholme Road, Upwood – Ramsey Road & vice versa and Muchwood Lane – Stocking Fen Road – B1040 – B1096 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and crack sealing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 February 2025 and continue until these works have finished on or before 19 August 2025. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19 February 2025 and 20 February 2025.
Potton Road B1040 & St Ives Road B1040, Hilton Temporary Revocation of 7.5 Tonne Weight Limit – Order 2025-285
Is to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991. During the period this Order remains in force The Cambridgeshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (4), and 4(2) of the Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the "Act") as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Parking) Act 1986 & of all other enabling powers after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act hereby make the following Order: This Order shall come into operation on the 4/7/22 & may be cited as the Cambridgeshire County Council, Various Roads, Hilton (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 2022 is hereby suspended insofar as it affects Potton Road B1040 & St Ives Road B1040, Hilton. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
Earth Road B1050, Colne Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-287
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along Earth Road, Colne as lies between East Street & High Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1050; A1123; B1040; B1086; B1050 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footway maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/2/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/8/26 whichever is the earlier.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, BRAMPTON (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-286
To stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1. The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 17 February 2025 and will continue until these works have finished or on the 16 August 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this Order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedule.
All will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Social Services during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
