What is happening?

BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – CONWAY STREET, HOVE

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:

(a) The temporary closure of Conway Street, Hove, from its junction with Goldstone Street in a westerly direction for approximately 120 metres, except for access to off-road parking from the western end of the closure.

(b) For the duration of the closure it is necessary to suspend the permit holders and pay and display parking bays and motor cycle bay within the closure.

(c) For the duration of the closure, it is necessary to prohibit waiting at any time along the southern kerb line of Conway Street, within the closure.

(d) For the duration of the closure it is necessary to relocate the motor cycle parking bay from Conway Street to the permit holders and pay and display parking bay on Ellen Street, on the northern kerbline, approximately 10 metres east of the junction with Goldstone Street.

2. The Order is necessary to allow demolition and construction works to take place. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion will be in place for vehicular traffic.

3. This Order comes into force on 1 February 2025 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed.
