What is happening?

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 50 & 71 (PART)
BRIDLEWAY NO.48 & TRANS PENNINE TRAIL (PART) - STAVELEY PARISH

WHEN: 27 January to 25 July 2025.
WHERE: Close Staveley footpath No.50.
Close bridleway No.48.
Close Trans Pennine Trail from SK43693 75355 to SK43886 75325.
REASON: To facilitate public safety during canal restoration works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From the west side of the closure (canal towpath) follow the diversion route put in place. At the new bridge travel north to carry along the Trans Pennine Trail. Travel over the new bridge (south) to take the alternative route for footpath 71. After the bridge follow the new diversion for access to Bell House Lane. At Bellhouse lane follow the track to the allotments which joins footpath No.24 and travel east to join footpath No.20. Travel Northeast along footpath No.20 and then North-Northeast onto footpath No.21 to join the eastern closure point.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533190.The County Council has made an order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
