What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
C179 WARTON JUNCTION TO WHITE LAW JUNCTION THROPTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C179 Warton Junction To White Law Junction Thropton from its junction with U4026 heading in a northerly direction for a length of 570 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 27th January 2025 until the 25th May 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 27th January 2025 until the 6th April 2025 and that it will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 25th May 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C179, C172, C176, C178, B6341 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out bridge strengthening works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
