U114 HIGHCLIFFE FOOTWAY SPITTAL
(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on the following sections of footways in Spittal in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 17th February 2025 until the 21st April 2025.
Footway Closures:
U114 Highcliffe Footway from a point at the front of house number 253 heading eastwards for a distance of 30 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 28th February 2025 until the 3rd March 2025, and that the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st April 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the U114 Highcliffe Footway, Highcliffe and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible and these changes will be signposted accordingly.
U114 Highcliffe Footway from a point at the rear of house number 269 heading northwards for a distance of 77 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 3rd March 2025 until the 4th March 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st April 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the U114 Highcliffe Footway, Spittal Hall Road and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
U114 Highcliffe Footway from a point at the front of house number 142 heading westwards for a distance of 76 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 5th March 2025 until the 7th March 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st April 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the U114 Highcliffe Footway, Spittal Hall Road and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
U114 Highcliffe Footway from a point at the front of house number 168 heading northwards and then eastwards for a distance of 88 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 10th March 2025 until the 11th March 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st April 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the U114 Highcliffe Footway, Spittal Hall Road and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
U114 Highcliffe Footway from a point at the rear of house number 213 heading westwards and then southwards for a distance of 62 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 12th March 2025 until the 13th March 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st April 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the U114 Highcliffe Footway, Highcliffe, Spittal Hall Road and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, and where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
U114 Highcliffe Footway from a point at the front of house number 213 heading westwards for a distance of 40 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 14th March 2025 until the 17th March 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st April 2025.
There will be no alternative route available.

The closure has been requested by Avonline Networks to install micro-ducts and subsequent network fibre. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
