NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

The Beach, Elton Road, Alexandra Road and Seavale Road, Clevedon, North Somerset Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into force: 17th February 2025 - Ref: T24-56

Will be to temporarily, close to vehicles and to remove the one-way traffic order to vehicles in the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this Notice.

This Order is required in the interest of public safety and to facilitate the installation of highway works in the carriageway and will become operative on the 17 February 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be over a 3 month works period as detailed. Schedule of Works - Elton Road is anticipated to be closed 24 to 28 February 2025 to install a dropped kerb crossing point. The Beach (south end) is anticipated to be closed 24 to 25 February 2025 and 13 to 14 March 2025 to realign the junction and provide pedestrian crossing points. The Beach (north end) is anticipated to be closed 17 to 18 March 2025 and 24 to 25 April 2025 to realign the junction and to install an island to separate cyclists from other vehicles. The Beach (entire length) is anticipated to be closed 28 April to 9 May 2025 for resurfacing and road markings. Alexandra Road (west end) is anticipated to be closed 5 to 9 May 2025 for road markings. Seavale Road (west end) is anticipated to be closed 5 to 9 May 2025 for road markings. Access Arrangements - to facilitate the works and allow access, the existing one-way traffic order on The Beach will be temporarily revoked. This revocation will be in effect throughout the works period. During this period, two-way traffic will be permitted to allow access where possible and minimise disruption. Access will be via one end of The Beach, while works are occurring at the opposite end and the access point will change as needed throughout the works to enable its completion. Appropriate traffic management and signage will be in place to guide road users as the access point changes. The existing one-way traffic order will also be revoked on Seavale while it's junction with The Beach is closed. Parking spaces on The Beach will be suspended for the duration of the works.

Roads within the Schedule of Works - Elton Road between the junctions of The Beach and Six Ways. The Beach (south end) between the junctions of Elton Road and Beach Mews. The Beach (north end) between the junction of Alexandra Road and 12 The Beach. The Beach (entire length) between the junctions of Elton Road and Leagrove Road. Alexandra Road (west end) between the junctions of The Beach and Copse Road. Seavale Road (west end) between the junctions of The Beach and Copse Road. Alternative routes - Elton Road (Victoria Road - Albert Road and vice versa), The Beach (northbound: Elton Road - Alexandra Road - Copse Road - Marine Hill - Marine Parade, southbound: Marine Parade - Marine Hill - Hill Road - Belluvue Road - Elton Road), Alexandra Road (Copse Road - Marine Hill -Marine Parade and vice versa), Seavale Road (northbound: Elton Road - Seavale Road, southbound: Marine Parade - Marine Hill - Copse Road - Seavale Road).

Footpath LA13/26/40, Nailsea, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2025

Date coming into force: 3 March 2025 - Ref: SW24.25-277

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water for sewer replacement works. This order will become operative on the 3 March 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of approximately 43 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into force: 27 March 2025 - Ref: SW24.25-279

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace a pole. This order will become operative on the 27 March 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 27 March 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This will become operative on the 4 February 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. The general effect of the order shall be to amend parking restrictions (yellow lines/parking bays), waiting, loading and stopping in Clevedon. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this Notice.
