What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF MAIN STREET, WHITGIFT AND PART OF MAIN STREET, REEDNESS
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part of Main Street, Whitgift and part of Main Street, Reedness from its junction with Justice Lane travelling westbound for a distance of approximately 1,000 metres to a property called Bank House, Main Street, Reedness commencing 15 February 2025 until 23 February 2025 for the purpose of “concrete repairs to flood wall/joint replacement and repairs to retaining flags to enbankment” work. The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within
nine days. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via: Main Street, Reedness Road, Church Lane, Kings Causeway, B1239 Eastoft village to Luddington village, Luddington to Fockerby village, Fockerby to Adlingfleet village, Hoggard Lane,
Townend Causeway. The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic, but access will be maintained at all time for residents, emergency
services and pedestrians.
