Byslips Road, Studham & Footpath in Houghton Regis - Temporary Closures
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BYSLIPS ROAD, STUDHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends
not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Byslips Road, Studham outside Hill Farm.
This temporary closure is required to enable air valve works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 10 to 13 February 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Buckwood Road, Dunstable Road, Clements End Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 10 February 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(HOUGHTON REGIS: BRIDLEWAY NO.22)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 7th June 2024 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot, or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of Houghton Regis Public Bridleway No. 22, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 5th July 2027.
This temporary closure is required to enable construction works to safely take place. The closure is expected to continue from 6th January 2025 for up to thirty months.
Further details, including a map, can be found on the Council’s website at: https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/82/countryside/431/rights_of_way/2 The Order will continue in force until 5th July 2027 or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within thirty months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
