TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

ANTINGHAM – Elderton Lane from 144m east of its junction with Southrepps Road for 40m eastwards to facilitate Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd railway bridge inspection works between 23:00 on 27th and 06:00 on 28th January 2025 (may continue until 11th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Southrepps Road, A149 Cromer Road, Elderton Lane (Antingham, Southrepps).

BELAUGH – U57127 The Street from its junction with U57126 The Street for 280m southwards to facilitate BDUK new duct installation works between 23:00 on 27th January and 06:00 on 28th January 2025 (may continue until 26th March 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Top Road.

BRUNDALL – Strumpshaw Road from its junction with St Michaels Way for 130m south-eastwards to facilitate Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd detailed bridge inspection and maintenance works between 09:00 and 15:00 on 27th January 2025 (may continue until 10th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Strumpshaw Road, Blofield Road, Brundall Road, Stocks Lane, Yarmouth Road, Danesbower Lane, Lingwood Road, Chapel Road, Norwich Road, Long Lane (Brundall, Strumpshaw, Lingwood and Burlingham, Blofield).

BURGH CASTLE – Butt Lane from its junction with Mill Road for 40m northwards to facilitate kerbing and patching works to resolve a surface water issue from 27th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Mill Road, High Road, Butt Lane.

CATFIELD

  1. A149 Bypass from 200m north of its junction with New Road (West) to 200m south of New Road (East);

  2. New Road (West) from its junction with A149 Bypass for 20m westwards and

  3. New Road (East) from its junction with A149 Bypass for 20m eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.

The roads 1), 2) and 3) will be temporarily closed between 19:00 and 05:00 and road 1) will also be subject to a 30mph speed restriction between 05:01 and 18:59 from 27th January to 1st February 2025 (may continue until 1st March 2025).

CAWSTON – Norwich Road from its junction with Easton Way to its junction with Church Lane to facilitate work to test, rod, rope and install sub ducting for cabling works from 27th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Easton Way, Buxton Road, B1149 Holt Road, Short Thorn Road, Haveringland Road, Norwich Road (Felthorpe, Hevingham, Cawston, Haveringland).

CROMER – Cabbell Road from 50m south of its junction with A149 Runton Road for 50m southwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works on 27th January 2025 (may continue until 11th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Cabbell Road, Runton Road, Beach Road, Cadogan Road.

DRAYTON – Low Road from its junction with Fairview Close for 52m southwards to facilitate BT pole testing and cabling works on 25th January 2025 (may continue until 8th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Low Road, A1067 Drayton High Road, Hospital Lane (Hellesdon, Drayton).

MORSTON – The Street from 90m west of its junction with B1156 Langham Road for 60m westwards to facilitate UK Power Network new electrical connection works between 19:00 and 06:00 from 27th January to 1st February 2025 (may continue until 15th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Blakeney Road, Morston Road, Langham Road, Holt Road, Smokers Hole, Brinton Road, Fakenham Road, Fakenham Bypass, Barsham Road, Wells Road, Burnt Street, Church Street, Warham Road, Stiffkey Road, Coast Road, Morston Chase, The Street, Quay Lane (Gunthorpe, Field Dalling, Holkham, Wells-Next-the-Sea, Fakenham, Morston, Wighton, Little Snoring, Blakeney, Brinton, Warham, Kettlestone, Barsham, Stiffkey, Langham, Walsingham, Thursford, Scultthorpe).

Alternative route is via: New Road, B1145 Station Road, Market Place, Church Hill, Norwich Road, The Moor.

SUSTEAD – Cromer Road from its junction with Church Lane for 50m westwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works on 29th January 2025 (may continue until 12th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Cromer Road, Metton Road, Roughton Road, The Green, Holt Road, Church Road, Mill Lane, School Road (Aylmerton, Sustead, Felbrigg).

THEMELTHORPE – The Street from 25m south of its junction with Kerdiston Road for 80m southwards to facilitate installation of a new electrical connection from 27th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Reepham Road, Market Hill, High Street, Station Road, Foxley Road, A1067 Fakenham Road, B1145 (Norwich Road, Reepham Road Bawdeswell Road), Reepham Road (Bawdeswell, Foxley, Reepham, Foulsham, Bintree, Themelthorpe).

THORPE ST. ANDREW – Thorpe Avenue from its junction with Ring Road for 30m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water mains fitting works from 27th to 29th January 2025 (may continue until 12th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Thorpe Avenue, Spinney Road, Thunder Lane, A1042 Ring Road.

WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA – Standard Road from its junction with Northfield Lane to its junction with Station Road to facilitate Cadent new gas connection works from 27th to 29th January 2025 (may continue until 12th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Polka Road, A149 Church Street/Burnt Street/Two Furlong Hill/Mill Road, Holkham Road, Freeman Street, The Quay, Standard Road.

CLAXTON – C383 Church Road from 230m north of its junction with C382 Hall Road for 50m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water new connection works from 27th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Church Lane, Hall Road, Green Lane, Hellington Hill, Run Lane, Rookery Hill, The Street, New Inn Hill, Lower Road, Claxton Corner (Claxton, Rockland St. Mary, Hellington, Ashby St. Mary).

FRANSHAM – C240 Station Road from its junction with 3P753 Glebe Close for 85m southwards to facilitate UK Power Networks cable installation works between 09:00 and 15:00 from 27th January to 7th February 2025 (may continue until 21st March 2025). Alternative route is via: C240 Station Road/Beeston Road, C123 Necton Road, C117 Station Road/Dunham Road, A47 and vice versa (Little Dunham, Fransham, Great Dunham, Necton).

GREAT ELLINGHAM – U33148 Town Green from 35m northeast of its junction with U33112 Penhill Road for 50m north-eastwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works on 29th January 2025 (may continue until 12th March 2025). Alternative route is via: U33138 Town Green, U31531 Glebe Meadow, C136 Long Street, U33112 Penhill Road.

KIRBY CANE AND ELLINGHAM – U76312 Mill Road from its junction with U76311 Mill Lane for 245m northwards to facilitate CityFibre installation works for new fibre network from 27th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Mill Road, A143 Yarmouth Road, Church Road, Yarmouth Road Lockhart Road (Ellingham, Kirby Cane). NB: Please note that access with be given to Crisp Road and U76312 Mill Road, but no access will be given to Wood Lane Drive, Chapel Lane, Chapel Meadow and Newgate falling within the points of closure.

LYNG – U35063 Cherry Tree Lane from its junction with U35068 Primrose Green to its junction with U35137 Collens Green to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway repair works from 27th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). Alternative route is via: U35068 Primrose Green, C198 Lyng Road/Heath Road/The Common/The Street, U35063 The Street/Cherry Tree Lane.

NEEDHAM – C361/200 Wells Lane from its junction with C361/10 Wells Lane to its junction with U7295 Wells Lane Footway to facilitate Norfolk County Council drainage scheme works from 27th January to 31st March 2025 (may continue until 30th September 2025). Alternative route is via: N/A.

NEEDHAM – U7295 Wells Lane Footway from its junction with C361/200 Wells Lane for 380m westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council drainage scheme works from 27th January to 31st March 2025 (may continue until 30th September 2025). Alternative route is via: N/A.

SWAFFHAM – Whitsands Road from its junction with Princes Street to its junction with Cley Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council patching works from 27th to 29th January 2025 (may continue until 12th March 2025). THURTON – C374 Hall Road from its junction with U76447 Church Loke for 200m eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway repairs on 27th January 2025 (may continue until 10th March 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, A146 Norwich Road (Bergh Apton, Thurton).

WYMONDHAM – 7Y5/10 Harts Farm Road Cyclepath from its junction with U71594 The Loke for 50m westwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works from 29th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). Alternative route is via: The Loke, 7Y5/10 Harts Farm Road Cyclepath, Harts Farm Road, Harts Farm Road Footpath, Norwich Road, Tuttles Lane East.

BAWSEY – Lynn Road from 250m east of its junction with A149 for 500m eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council new entrance works. The road will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 25th January to 16th February 2025 (may continue until the 16th August 2025). Alternative route is via: N/A.

BURNHAM THORPE – Walsingham Road from 230m southeast of its junction with Burnham Thorpe Road for 30m south-eastwards to facilitate Anglian Water chamber works from 30th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). KING'S LYNN – A17 Lynn Road from its junction with Main Road for 1000m eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway patching works from 27th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 14th March 2025). MARSHLAND ST. STOW BARDOLPH – The Causeway from its junction with Stow Bridge Road for 470m north westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council plane out and reinstatement of carriageway works from 30th January to 31st January 2025 (may continue until 13th March 2025). TILNEY ST. LAWRENCE – High Road from its junction with The Avenue for 530m northwards to facilitate UK Power Network working on overheads from 27th to 29th January 2025 (may continue until 12th March 2025). WEST DEREHAM – Gibbet Lane from its junction with A134 for 50m north eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council patching works from 28th to 30th January 2025 (may continue until 13th March 2025). ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

BLICKLING – Cromer Road from 400m south of its junction with Plantation Lane for 160m southwards to facilitate vehicular access for works vehicles as required by a safety audit. The road will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 18th January 2025 to 16th January 2028. Alternative route is via: N/A. This restriction is also made pursuant to section 15(2).

BRADWELL – Green Lane from its junction with Beccles Road for 20m northwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway resurfacing and trenching for duct works from 20th January to 28th February 2025 (may continue until the 28th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Beccles Road, Sun Lane, Green Lane.

CROMER – Harbord Road from 50m east of its junction with Salisbury Road for 50m eastwards to facilitate carriageway patching works from 20th to 22nd January 2025 (may continue until the 5th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Harbord Road, Station Road, Mill Road.

GORLESTON-ON-SEA – Stuart Close from its junction with Windsor Way for 40m westwards to facilitate Anglian Water works between 18:00 and 06:00 on the night of 28th January 2025 (may continue until the 7th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Magdalen Way, Magdalen Square, Windsor Way.

GREAT YARMOUTH – Bridge Road from its junction with North Quay for 90m southwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council maintenance works between 19:00 and 07:30 from 20th to 31st January 2025 (may continue until the 14th March 2025).     DEREHAM – C214 Theatre Street from its junction with U30113 Rifting Close to its junction with U30109 Emelson Close to facilitate Anglian Water pipe repair works from 22nd to 24th January 2025 (may continue until 7th March 2025). Alternative route is via:

    • Westbound – C214 Theatre Street, U30113 Kings Road, C553 Neatherd Road/Wellington Road.

    KIRBY BEDON – U78108 The Street from its junction with U78111 Easthill Lane for 50m southwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council works to relay highway covers on the 23rd January 2025 (may continue until 6th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Easthill Lane, Surlingham Road, Kirby Road, The Street (Kirby Bedon, Bramerton).

    PORINGLAND – U76372 Burgate Lane from its junction with U71523 Brooks Meadow for 50m eastwards to facilitate Anglian Water remedial works for reinstatement from 20th to 21st January 2025 (may continue until 4th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Burgate Lane, Wheel Road, Church Road, Framingham Earl Road, Yelverton Road, Hall Road (Poringland, Framingham Earl, Alpington, Yelverton).

    PORINGLAND – U76417 Howe Lane from 920m north of its junction with U7637 The Green to facilitate Norfolk County Council concrete backway to eroded bank on the 22nd January 2025 (may continue until 5th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Howe Lane, Shotesham Road, Leafy Oak Lane, Shotesham Lane, The Green (Poringland, Howe).

    ROCKLANDS – C130 Scoulton Road from 162m north of its junction with U33039 Broadway for 50m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water works for a new water connection from 21st to 23rd January 2025 (may continue until 6th March 2025). Alternative route is via: C130 Scoulton Road/Golden Corner/Ellingham Road, B1108 Norwich Road, B1077 Caston Road/Carbrooke Road/Brayes Lane, C130 Bell Lane and vice versa (Carbrooke, Scoulton, Caston, Rocklands, Stow Bedon and Breckles).

    STOKE HOLY CROSS – C193 Stoke Road from 150m east of its junction with A140 Ipswich Road for 100m eastwards to facilitate BT fibre overhead cabling works on 21st January 2025 (may continue until the 4th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Stoke Road, Mill Road, Stoke Lane, A140 Ipswich Road (Swainsthorpe, Stoke Holy Cross).

    SURLINGHAM – U78016 Pratts Hill from its junction with C195 Bramerton Road to its junction with U78016 New Road to facilitate CityFibre installation works from 20th to 22nd January 2025 (may continue until the 5th March 2025). Alternative route is via: New Road, Pond Lane, School Lane, Walnut Hill.

    TIBENHAM – B1134 Long Row from its junction with C349 Pristow Green Lane for 500m eastwards to facilitate Anglian Water works for a new water connection from 20th to 22nd January 2025 (may continue until 5th March 2025).     WOODTON – B1527 Church Road from 390m east of its junction with C371 Shotesham Road for 50m eastwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works from 22nd to 24th January 2025 (may continue until the 7th March 2025).     DERSINGHAM – Shernborne Road from its junction with Manor Road to its junction with Church Lane to facilitate Norfolk County Council tree felling works between 09:00 and 15:00 from 21st to 22nd January 2025 (may continue until 5th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Shernborne Road, School Road, Fring Road, Bircham Road, Church Road, Lynn Road, Hunstanton Road, Chapel Road (Snettisham, Ingoldisthorpe, Shernborne, Dersingham).

    EAST WALTON – Gayton Road from 565m north of its junction with A47 for 100m northwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway repair works from 21st to 22nd January 2025 (may continue until 5th March 2025).     KING'S LYNN – St Peters Road from 115m north of its junction with Bankside for 500m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water new water connection from 22nd to 24th January 2025 (may continue until 7th March 2025). Alternative route is via: St Peters Road, St Nicholas Street, King Street, Austin Street.

    METHWOLD – Northwold Road from its junction with Stoke Road for 1000m north-eastwards to facilitate CI UK Ltd electric installation works from 20th January to 2nd March 2025 (may continue until 2nd September 2025). Alternative route is via: Methwold Road, Thetford Road, Whittington Hill, Main Road, Stoke Road, Northwold Road (Methwold, Northwold).

    RUNCTON HOLME – Runcton Road from its junction with A10 Lynn Road for 100m eastwards to facilitate BT safe access to equipment between 09:30 and 15:30 on 24th January 2025 (may continue until 7th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Runcton Road, A134, Lynn Road (Runcton Holme, Tottenhill).

    SHOULDHAM THORPE – South Road from 120m west of its junction with Shouldham Road for 50m westwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works on 20th January 2025 (may continue until 3rd March 2025). Alternative route is via: South Road, West Road, Middle Road, Shouldham Road.

    TILNEY ALL SAINTS – Shepherdsgate Road from 50m north of its junction with Church Road for 80m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water new connection works from 20th to 22nd January 2025 (may continue until 5th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Shepherdsgate Road, Church Road, Station Road, Clenchwarton Bypass A17/Terrington St Clement Bypass, Moat Road, Bullock Road (Clenchwarton, Tilney All Saints, Terrington St Clement).

    WEST DEREHAM – Station Road from 100m south of its junction with Church Road for 100m southwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council drainage works from 20th to 24th January 2025 (may continue until the 7th March 2025). Alternative route is via: Station Road, Basil Road, Hilgay Road.

    Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed, the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months for vehicular highway or 6 months for non-vehicular highway.

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
