What is happening?

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (GORSEBROOK ROAD AND
POWELL STREET) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
· Gorsebrook Road closed in both directions from outside property 80 to its junction with Dunstall Park.
· Carter Road closed in both directions at its junction with Gorsebrook Road.
· Glentworth Gardens closed in both directions at its junction with Gorsebrook Road.
Access/egress to frontages maintained.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Craddock Street, Hunter Street, Newhampton Road West, Newhampton Road East, Waterloo Road, Ring Road, Stafford Street, Stafford Road and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 30 January 2025 until 7 February 2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
· Powell Street closed its entire length in both directions.
· Leslie Road closed in both directions at its junction with Powell Street. Access/Egress to frontages maintained.
Easterly Vehicular Diversion Route: Cannock Road, Victoria Road, Bushbury Road, Church Street, Wednesfield Way and Tudor Road.
Westerly Vehicular Diversion Route: Tudor Road, Bushbury Road, Victoria Road and Cannock Road.

The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 3 February 2025 until 14 February 2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and lining works.
