Ridley Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(RIDLEY LANE, CROSTON, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of Ridley Lane, Croston from the southern boundary of the property named Greenacre to the northern boundary of the property named Ridley House.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Wednesday 29th January 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 31st January 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times. Cyclists will need to dismount to pass through the pedestrian walkway installed on site.
4. Vehicular and cycle access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is not possible owing to the fact that Ridley Lane, Croston is a no through road.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new water connection installation works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of United Utilities.
