Notice Of Confirmation Of Public Path Order Highways Act 1980
Public Footpath M255 (Part) In The Parish Of Allesley (Formerly In The County Of Warwickshire Now In The City Of Coventry) Public Path Diversion Order 2024
On 9th January 2025, the Coventry City Council confirmed the above named Order.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert public footpath M255 (part) running from Hawkes Mill Lane to its junction with public footpath M254 commencing at the junction with public footpath M254 point A (Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (“GR”) (SP 29929 82923) and proceeding in a southerly direction to Hawkes Mill Lane point B (GR SP 29929 82771) a total distance of approximately 158 metres or thereabouts.
The said footpath is diverted to a line running from point C (GR SP 29994 82901) and proceeding in a south easterly direction for approximately 85 metres to (“GR”) (SP 30081 82841) then turning in a south, south westerly direction for approximately 20 metres to terminate at Hawkes Mill Lane at point D (GR SP 30075 82820) a total distance of 110 metres or thereabouts, as shown on the order map.

The Order became operative on 13th February 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that any of the provisions contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks of 16th January 2025, make an application to the High Court.
Notice Of Making City Of Coventry (Hales Street) (Bus Gate) (Permanent) Order 2024 City Of Coventry (Corporation Street) (Revocation) (Permanent) Order 2024
Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Orders (“the Permanent Orders”), which comes into operation on 17th January 2025.
The effect of the Permanent Orders is to giver permanent effect to the following Experimental Orders (“the Experimental Orders”):-
City of Coventry (Hales Street) (Bus Gate) (Experimental) Order 2023; and
City of Coventry (Corporation Street) (Revocation) (Experimental) Order 2023
The Experimental Orders came into operation on 19th July 2023 and had the following effects:-
Hales Street – created a bus gate east of its junction with Bishop Street which prohibits vehicles other than buses, pedal cycles, hackney carriages, and permit holders (which included private hire vehicles) entering the area Monday to Saturday between 10am & 6pm.
Corporation Street – revoked the existing bus gate on Corporation Street, located west of the junction with Bishop Street to provide an alternative route for drivers, who are not permitted through the new bus gate on Hales Street, to exit the area
The Experimental Orders were trialled for a period and the Council with the implementation of the Permanent Orders, intends to give the scheme permanent effect.
A copy of this notice, the completed and sealed Permanent Orders, the Experimental Orders, Statement of Reasons and plan may be inspected on the Council’s website. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Permanent Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder, or of any relevant Act, has not been complied with may, within six (6) weeks from today, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
Proposed Traffic Regulation Order City Of Coventry (Primrose Hill Street Area) (Red Route & Waiting Restrictions) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), pursuant to its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), propose to make the above Traffic Regulation Order (“the Order”). The effect of the proposed Order is to introduce a ‘red route’ extending along White Street, Primrose Hill Street, Victoria Street and part of King William Street and into the following adjoining side streets: Canterbury Street, Clifton Street, Cox Street, Nelson Street, Swanswell Street, Vine Street, Wellington Street.
The proposals will install no stopping at any time restrictions (double red lines) along the route in areas where waiting is currently prevented (as shown by double yellow lines). Existing limited waiting parking bays and loading bays will remain in place, apart from Wellington Street where it is proposed to replace part of the existing limited waiting bay with a ‘loading only, 8am-6pm’ bay.
The details of the changes proposed by this Order are contained in the Statement of Reasons and the Map Tiles all of which are available on the Council’s website (see link below).
A copy of this Notice, the draft Order, plan and Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the Council House (reception area) Earl Street, Coventry and on the Council’s website ‘www.coventry.gov.uk/tro’.

Any objection must state the grounds on which it is made and must be forwarded by no later than by no later than 6th February 2025.
Temporary Traffic Arrangements Steeplefield Road, Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from turning right into Mosely Avenue from Steeplefield Road to such extent when prescribed signs are displayed.
The Order would come into effect at 07.00 hours on Friday 24th January 2025 and is required to safely install a pedestrian refuge on the said road near the junction with Steeplefield Road and Moseley Avenue.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Friday 14th February 2025.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.
The road will be restricted on a number of occasions for various durations during this period as sign posted.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site and access maintained to premises wherever possible.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local reasonable vehicular access Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Parking Arrangements Sherwood Jones Close, Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading along Sherwood Jones Close for the entire length.
The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours on Monday 27th January 2025 and is required to allow the safe movement and delivery of construction materials along the highway.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 17:00 hours on Monday 16th March 2026.
The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
The previous notices advertised in relation to this road are null and void.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Herrick Road, Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along the entire length of Herrick Road.
The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Monday 27th January 2025 and is required to enable Severn Trent Water to safely complete water connection works.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed 4th February 2025.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure would be sign posted on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Herrick Road. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Watery Lane, Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Watery Lane from its junction with Wall Hill Road to its junction with Green Lane.
The Order would come into effect at 08.00 hours on Friday 24th January 2025 and is required to repair a sunken manhole on the said road.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 17.00 hours on Friday 24th January 2025.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Watery Lane
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Welsh Road, Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Welsh Road for its full length.
The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Wednesday 29th January 2025 and is required to allow Severn Trent Water to renew water connections on the said road.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Wednesday 5th February 2025.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Welsh Road
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Chelney Walk Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Chelney Walk.
The Order would come into effect from on Tuesday 21st January 2025 to allow Severn Trent Water to repair broken access chamber.to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Tuesday 21st January 2025.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to the closed section Chelney Walk.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Parking & Traffic Arrangements Poole Road, Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Poole Road from its junction with Banks Road to its junction with Loudon Avenue to such an extent when prescribed signs are displayed.
The Order will come into effect at 07:00 hours on Wednesday, 22 January 2025 and is required to enable water access chamber repair works on Poole Road to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 22 January 2025.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be sign posted on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Poole Road. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements Wakefield Close, Coventry
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit pedestrians and all footpath users from entering or proceeding along the footpath on Wakefield Close from the rear of Number 2 when prescribed signs are displayed.
The Order will come into effect at 07:00 hours on Wednesday, 22 January 2025 and is required to enable gas connection works on Wakefield Close to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is six (6) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 27 January 2025.
Alternative routes for pedestrian traffic affected by the closure will be sign posted on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;
