Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

Bouverie Road West, Folkestone, CT20 2PN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bouverie Road West, Folkestone, on or after 27th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of A259 Earls Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A259 Earls Avenue, A259 Sandgate Road, Grimston Avenue, Bouverie Road West and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Road, New Romney, TN28 8BU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, New Romney, on or after 27th January 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Elsyd, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Church Road, A259 Lydd Road, A259 High Street and Church Approach.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Church Road, Victoria Street, A259 High Street and A259 Lydd Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sandy Lane, Saltwood (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandy Lane, Saltwood, on or after 10th February 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 100m North of Grange Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

ORDER 2024

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 44, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act‘) the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-

1.  
This Order shall come into operation on20th January 2025and may be cited as “The Kent County Council (Various Roads, Folkestone & Hythe) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2021 (Amendment No.31) Order 2024” (‘this Order’)

2.  
The Interpretation Act 1978 shall apply to this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

The Order will revise parking and waiting restrictions in the following roads:

Radnor Park Avenue:

•    
Install double yellow line At Any Time restriction at the entrance to Royal Victoria Hospital.

•    
Install loading ban on opposite entrance to Royal Victoria Hospital.

Christ Church Road:

•    
Remove the three parking bays after the junction with Sandgate Road and extend the double yellow line At Any Time restriction to the entrance of Castle House car park.

•    
Install loading ban both sides from junction with Sandgate Road to entrance of Castle House car park.

The Order will introduce disabled persons parking bays:

Folkestone: In the vicinity of: 8 Grange Road; 19 Grove Road; 37 Biggins Wood Road; 4 Bournemouth Road; 20 Dudley Road; 21 Penfold Road; 54 Sydney Street; 12 Station Road; 19 St Francis Road; 15 Ormonde Road; 2 Quested Road; 7 Marshall Street; 33a Harvey Street; 11 St Francis Road; 77 Chart Road;

Hythe: In the vicinity of: 10 Napier Gardens; 1 St Andrews, Castle Road; 67 Sir John Moore Avenue; 4 Green Lane;

New Romney: In the vicinity of Page House, Cannon Street; 16 The Churchlands; 1 SpitalfieldTerrace;

Old Romney: In the vicinity of 1 The Limes;

Lyminge: In the vicinity of The Pottery, High street;

St Marys Bay: In the vicinity of 13 Meadsway;

The Order proposes to install a No Waiting For Goods Vehicles Over 5 Tonnes:

Church Road, Cheriton.

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT 34) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The Order will revise parking and waiting restrictions in the following road:

•   Tudor Road, Folkestone

Parking will be permit holders only between 8am and 8pm Monday - Sunday (including bank and public holidays)

Permits will be available to a resident of the road mentioned in the second paragraph of this Notice, and to any business or organisation with vehicle(s) essential to its operation.

An annual resident permit will cost £45, and resident visitor permits will cost £10.00 per 5 parking sessions. An annual business permit will cost £90.

Waiting will be prohibited at all times in any part of the road mentioned in the second paragraph of this Notice where parking is not allowed.
