What is happening?

(Kelvedon Road/Scrips Road, Coggeshall)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Kelvedon Road, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 675m south of the junction with Abbey Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a south westerly direction.
  2. To temporarily close that length of Scrips Road, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Kelvedon Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 2nd February 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFTL522RPTSB/BC008WFTL522RPTSB01 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Kelvedon Road, Grange Hill, Bridge Street, The Gravel, West Street, Market End, East Street, Colchester Road, A120, Prince of Wales Roundabout, London Road, A12, Kelvedon Bypass, Feering Hill, Station Road, Coggeshall Road, Kelvedon Road and vice versa (following one way at roundabouts).

The Order came into effect on 10th January 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
