What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PARK LANE & BROAD LANE, WINMARLEIGH, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Wyre:
i. Park Lane from its junction with Broad Lane for approximately 200 metres in a northerly direction.
ii. Broad Lane from its junction with Park Lane to the junction with Church Lane & New House Lane.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0930 hours to 1500 hours on Monday 3rd February 2025 until Tuesday 4th February 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
Church Lane – Island Lane - Garstang Road – Lancaster Road – Marsh Lane – Main Street – Garstang Road – Park Lane
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow BT Openreach engineers safe access to overhead and underground structures.
