What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(OAKENCLOUGH ROAD, NETHER WYRESDALE, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Oakenclough Road, Nether Wyresdale from the property "Calder Side" for approximately 45 metres in a southerly direction.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 27th January 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 31st January 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
Bleasdale Lane <> Hobbs Lane <> Butt Hill Lane <> Smithy Lane <> Lodge Road <> New Lane <> Preston Lancaster Road <> Garstang Road <> Bonds Lane <> (North bound diversion must then take Park Hill Rd onto Croston Road) & (South bound diversion must then take High St then onto Market Place) <> Bridge Lane <> B6430 <> Lancaster Road <> Hollins Lane <> Stony Lane
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new water connection works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of United Utilities.
