Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Tanners Lane, Shrewton, from its junction with A360 to its junction with The Hollow to enable Wessex Internet to carry out lay duct and build chambers for the Wessex Internet. Alternative route via The Hollow – B3086 – A360 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 February 2025 and the closure will be required until 01 March 2025. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) Bourn Barn Road, Winterbourne, from its junction with A345 to its junction with A338 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out ducting and associated works. Alternative route via A338 – C288 – A345 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 January 2025 and the closure will be required between 08:00 hours and 17:00 until 07 February 2025. C) New Canal, Salisbury; from its junction with Silver Street to its junction with High Street. D) High Street (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with New Canal to its junction with Bridge Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out drainage investigation and associated works. Alternative route via Bridge Street – Fisherton Street – Southwestern Road – Mill Road – Crane bridge Road – Crane Street – New Street – St Johns Street – St Ann Street – Brown Street – Milford Street and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 20 January 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 until 31 January 2025. For further information please contact Milestone on behalf of Wiltshire Council on 02033 077880.

Orders A) to D) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
