(GLENFIELD FOOTBRIDGE, GALASHIELS)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Glenfield Footbridge, Galashiels) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 20 January 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 14 February 2025 - 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Footbridge works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall walk, cycle or wheel across the Glenfield Footbridge, Galashiels from Glenfield Road East to Huddersfield Street.

The alternative southbound pedestrian route is via Glenfield Road East, Glenfield Road West, Currie Road, footbridge from Currie Road to Huddersfield Street and Huddersfield Street to the point of closure, northbound the reverse of the foregoing.

(A698 SHARPITLAW HOUSE, KELSO)
(TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (A698 Sharpitlaw House, Kelso) (Temporary 40mph Speed Restriction) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 23 January 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. The Order is required for BT Openreach works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 40mph along the A698 from the 30mph signs to Sharpitlaw House, Kelso. A map showing the restriction can be seen at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk.

(JAMES THOMSON FOOTBRIDGE, HAWICK)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (James Thomson Footbridge) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of  18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 20 January 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on  1 March 2025 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Trunk Road works to pedestrian crossing.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall walk or cycle across the James Thomson Footbridge,  Hawick from Albert Road to Teviot Road.

The alternative westbound pedestrian route is via Teviot Road, Victoria Footbridge and Commercial Road to the point of closure, the eastbound pedestrian route is the reverse of the foregoing.
