What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(ON-STREET WAITING, LOADING AND PARKING PLACES)

ORDER 2024 (VARIATION NO.4) ORDER 2024 (PART B) ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that on 8 January 2025 the Borough Council of Calderdale (“the Council”) in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) made the Borough Council of Calderdale (OnStreet Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) Order 2024 (Variation No.4) Order 2024 in part (“Part B”). The full Order was formerly named as the Borough Council of Calderdale (On-Street Waiting, Loading And Parking Places) (Western Corridor) Amendment No.01 Order 2024 in the Council’s notice of proposal dated 21 March 2024. Part B  introduces the following restrictions on lengths of the following roads:

The items shown above in Table 1 of Part B will come into effect on 20th January 2025, and the items shown above in Table 2 of Part B will come into effect on 19th February 2025.

The Council defers making the remainder of the Borough Council of Calderdale (On-Street Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) Order 2024 (Variation No.4) Order 2024 until a later date. The outstanding proposals are set out in the aforesaid notice of proposal of 21 March 2024, excepting those mentioned above.

Copies of Part B, the full draft Order, the notice of proposals dated 21 March 2024, the statement of reasons and plans showing the affected roads, are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Alternatively copies of the documents can be viewed on https://new.calderdale.gov.uk/streets-andtransport/transport-initiatives/tro/current-tro/a629-phase2-western-corridor or can be made available on request via email (a629phase2tro@calderdale.gov.uk) or telephone 01422 288001 or 288002.

If you wish to question the validity of Part B or of any of its provisions on the ground that they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the part Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date on which it was made (i.e. 16 January 2025) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
