What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –
SECTION 14
(BARDEN ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 16) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for excavation on behalf of Northern Powergrid to upgrade electrical infrastructure to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Barden Road, Wakefield for approximately 6 metres.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Barden Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barden Road, Linton Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 22nd January 2025 to 28th January 2025 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(SANTINGLEY LANE, CROFTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 18) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow works to undertake test rod & rope & install sub duct into fibre infrastructure as part of the fibre to home scheme to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Santingley Lane,  Crofton approximately 500m from its junction with Oak Street to its junction with Wintersett Lane.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Santingley Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Wintersett Lane – Long Dam Lane – Back Lane – Moorhouse Lane – Swine Lane – Garmil Lane – Doncaster Road – Cock Lane – Harrison Road – High Street – Santingley Lane – Vice Versa

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd January 2025 at 20:00 hours until 25th January 2025 at 06:00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WINTERSETT LANE, CROFTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 19) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow works to undertake test rod & rope & install sub duct into fibre infrastructure as part of the fibre to home scheme to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Wintersett Lane, Crofton from its junction with Santingley Lane to approximately 200m from The Bungalow.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Wintersett Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Wintersett Lane – Long Dam Lane – Back Lane – Moorhouse Lane – Swine Lane – Garmil Lane – Doncaster Road – Cock Lane – Harrison Road – High Street – Santingley Lane – Vice Versa

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd January 2025 at 20:00 hours until 25th January 2025 at 06:00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(ESTHER AVENUE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 24) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to install new electrical connection to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Esther Avenue, Wakefield outside number 18 for approximately 15 metres.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Esther Avenue.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Esther Avenue, Cobb Avenue & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st February 2025 to 7th February 2025 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(PEACOCK AVENUE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 17) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow verge hardening and footway surfacing to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Peacock Avenue, Wakefield from its junction with Walnut Crescent to its junction with Silcoates Street.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Peacock Avenue.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Peacock Avenue, Walnut Crescent, Maple Street, Silcoates Street, Peacock Avenue and vice versa

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 20th January 2025 at 08:00 hours until 21st February 2025 at 15:30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
The closure was originally due to be in force until the 14th February 2025, however it has become necessary to extend the closure until the 21st February 2025 as above.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(INGWELL STREET, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 25) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to enable building works to create new housing development to take place to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Ingwell Street, Wakefield after the footpath to the side of dwellings 27 to 37.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Ingwell Street.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion, dead end.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 3rd February 2025 to 2nd August 2026 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FOOTPATH FROM KIRKGATE TO
BRUNSWICK STREET, WAKEFIELD)  
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE)
ORDER (NO 26) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for building site to be carried out on or near the footpath from Kirkgate to Brunswick Street, Wakefield near to the West Yorkshire Records Office, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, intend not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians: Signed diversion via Kirkgate, Brunswick Street & vice versa. The order comes into operation on 3rd February 2025 to 2nd August 2025
