What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SLOUGH ROAD, ALLENS GREEN) ORDER 2025 NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Slough Road, Allens Green from its junction with Chandlers Lane north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with High Wych Public Footpath No.024, a distance of approximately 259m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Slough Road, Beanfield Road, High Wych Lane, High Wych Road, A1184 (Harlow Road/Bonks Hill/London Road/ Cambridge Road), Parsonage Lane, Trimms Green, Aerodrome Road, Blounts Lane and Slough Road. The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A1250 HADHAM ROAD, BISHOPS STORTFORD) ORDER 2025                                                                                                    NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A1250 Hadham Road, Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1004 Northgate End south westwards to its junction with Half Acres, a distance of approximately 77m (“the Road”). An alternative route will be via A1250 (Link Road/The Causeway/Hockerill Street/Dunmow Road), A120 (unnamed road/Bishops Stortford Bypass) and A1250 Hadham Road. The Order is needed because gas service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN BISHOPS STORTFORD AND MUCH HADHAM) ORDER 2025 NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Pig Lane, Bishops Stortford from its junction with A1060 Hallingbury Road north westwards to its junction with B1383 London Road, a distance of approximately 975m. An alternative route will be via A1060 Hallingbury Road and B1383 London Road.

2. that length of Stanstead Hill, Much Hadham from its junction with 3U42 (unnamed road) north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Danebridge Road, a distance of approximately 855m. An alternative route will be via 3U42 (unnamed road), Aerodrome Road, B1004 Great Hadham Road and Danebridge Road.

3. that length of B1004 Great Hadham Road, Bishops Stortford/Much Hadham and B1004 Winding Hill, Much Hadham from its junction with the A1184 Bishops Park Way/A1184 St James Way roundabout south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with B1004 High Street, a distance of approximately 8030m.

An alternative route will be via A1184 Bishops Park Way, A120 (Hadham Road/Hadham Road/Little Hadham Bypass/Stortford Road/Kents Lane/ Standon Hill), A10 Wadesmill Bypass, A1170 (Wadesmill Road/Baldock Road/High Street) and B1004 (Star Street/ Widbury Hill/Ware Road/High Street/Medcalf Hill/Widford Road/Tower Hill/High Street). The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. A copy of the Orders may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
