THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (SOMERSET COTTAGES, SUNDERLAND) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from the sections of highway described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for maintenance works to the gas main. The order will come into force on 24th February 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take approximately three weeks. All vehicles, horses and cycles will be prohibited from the section of highway described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided.
Schedule Somerset Cottages from the extended north-western property boundary of no.24 Somerset Cottages to its south-eastern extent.
Dated: 16th January 2025. Patrick Melia OBE, Chief Executive, Sunderland City Council, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA
