Barking and Dagenham, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Traffic Management Order for Gas Replacement Works

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(ARNEWAYS AVENUE, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come into effect on Monday 3 February 2025.

   The works expected:

   • A road closure, with associated banned manoeuvres, will be in place on Arneways Avenue between its junctions with Rose Lane and Newhouse Avenue. Works to take 43 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 17 March 2025 with the work to be undertaken between 8.00am and 5.00pm.
   • Works will take place in two phases, to minimise impact. With Phase 1 affecting the section of Arneways Avenue between Rose Lane and Tantony Grove, and Phase 2 affecting the section of Arneways Avenue between Tantony Grove and Newhouse Avenue.

   However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:

   In Phase 1

   • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Arneways Avenue, both sides, from its junction with Rose Lane to the western kerb-line of Tantony Grove.

   • Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Tantony Grove, both sides, from its junction with Rosehatch Avenue to its junction with Arneways Avenue.

   • Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Arneways Avenue, both sides, from the extended eastern kerb-line of Longhayes Avenue to the western kerb-line of Tantony Grove.

   • Introduce a banned right turn from Rose Lane into Arneways Avenue.

   • Introduce a banned left turn from Rose Lane into Arneways Avenue.

     Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

     • Via Rose Lane, Sheepcotes Road, Longhayes Avenue, Arneways Avenue and Vice Versa.
     • Via Rose Lane, Rosehatch Avenue, Tantony Grove and Vice Versa.

   In Phase 2

   • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Arneways Avenue, both sides, from the western kerb-line of Tantony Grove to the eastern kerb-line of Newhouse Avenue.

   • Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Longhayes Avenue, both sides, from its junction with Rose Lane Grove to its junction with Arneways Avenue.

   • Introduce a banned right turn from Tantony Grove into Arneways Avenue.

   • Introduce a banned left turn from Newhouse Avenue into Arneways Avenue.

     Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

     • Via Tantony Grove, Rosehatch Avenue, Newhouse Avenue and Vice Versa.
     • Via Longhayes Avenue, Crabtree Avenue, Padnall Road and Vice Versa.
     • Via Rose Lane, Sheepcotes Road and Vice Versa.
