What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(BURNBY LANE, POCKLINGTON (PART))
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed along part of Burnby
Lane, Pocklington between the junction of Parisi Way
and Hopkin Way between:
08.00 hours on Monday 27 January 2025 and
18.00 hours on Friday 28 February 2025.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
Yorkshire Water new main installation works, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within five weeks.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Burnby Lane, New Street, The Balk, The Balk
Roundabout, York Road, Town Street, Burnby Road,
Back Lane, Pocklington Lane and Burnby Lane.
The road will be closed to all traffic, but access will be
maintained for residents and emergency vehicles up
to the point of closure but not through it, except for
pedestrians. The Order will commence 27 January
2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier.
