Carrington Road, Portwood - Temporary Restrictions of Traffic For Waterproofing Works

(Carrington Road, Portwood) (Temporary One Way Traffic) Notice 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary one way traffic at Carrington Road, westbound closure from the junction of Newbridge Lane in a north westerly direction for approx. 35m whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary because waterproofing works on a bridge deck are being or are proposed to be executed.
It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 55 working days.
Alternative routes will be provided via:- Newbridge Lane, St Marys Way, Portwood Roundabout and Carrington Road.
This Order is to come into operation on the 24 January 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: ZA/6220324
