(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:

(i)  temporarily close, introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting at anytime on the following roads throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated. This Order will also introduce a temporary 30mph speed limit on major ‘A’ class roads and a temporary 20mph speed limit on minor and non-classified roads: A2011 Crawley Avenue (westbound) between Crawley Avenue roundabout junction and Hazelwick roundabout junction; A2011 Crawley Avenue Access westbound, between Balcombe Road and Crawley Avenue; A2219 Orchard Street/ Pegler Way/High Street, between West Green Drive and Ifield Avenue; A2220 Horsham Road, between Ifield Road and Horsham Road roundabout junction; A2220 Worth Park Avenue/ Worth Park Avenue roundabout junction/Copthorne Road, between Mereworth Drive and Old Hollow; B2036 Balcombe Road, between Wentworth Drive and Blindley Road; Albany Road; Alpha Road; Barley Close; Beehive Ring Road, between Gatwick Road and The Beehive; Bewbush Drive; Blackthorn Close; Blake Close; Briar Close; Church Street; Clive Way; Constable Road; Copse Crescent; Dairyfields; Dormans; Dower Walk; Downland Drive; Dunsfold Close; Fernhurst Close; Findon Road; Friston Walk; Gatwick Road, filter lanes onto Beehive Ring Road; Gainsborough Road; Goffs Close; Goffs Park Road; Hawthorn Close; High Street, between Bank Lane and Orchard Street; Hogarth Road; Holbein Road; Honeysuckle Lane; Ifield Drive; Malthouse Road; Newlands Road; Oakhaven; Oatlands; Old Horsham Road; Radford Road; Rusper Road, between Hyde Drive and Ifield Green; Ryelands; Salisbury Road; Sargent Close; Southgate Road; Spencers Road; Springfield Road; Titmus Drive; Victoria Road; Worth Road; Worth Park Avenue; and

(ii)  prohibit any vehicle from making a left or a right turn from the Gatwick Road filter lane onto the Beehive Ring Road; and

(iii)  close the footway on Mason Road, opposite Nos. 44 to 50 and close footpath E174 between Rutherford Way and Gatwick Road.

These restrictions are needed to protect public safety whilst the 2025 highway maintenance programme is carried out. It is expected that the affected roads will be closed for upto 3 days. 30mph speed limits may be required during the works and between phases of the works. The exact dates and duration of the works and the traffic management in each location will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time.

The Order will come into effect on 30 January 2025 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the works alternative routes for vehicles and/or pedestrians will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
