Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above- mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14)7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (1) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice; and (2) suspend “The Surrey County Council Woodlands Avenue (D3677) West Byfleet Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety. The Order is required to allow mains gas replacement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the lengths of road described in this Notice. This Order, which will commence on 10 February 2025 for a period of 12 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of SGN, including but not limited to: mains gas replacement works and/or any other associated works. In the Schedule to this notice the works in part (a) are anticipated to be carried out over 8 weeks commencing on 10 February 2025 and will consist of rolling road closures; the works in part (b) are anticipated to be carried out over 7 weeks commencing on 07 April 2025; the works in part (c) are anticipated to commence on 26 May 2025 and carried out over 11 weeks with rolling road closures, and the works in part (d) are anticipated to be carried out over 3 weeks commencing on 07 July 2025. All works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am and 4pm on Saturdays, there may be additional hours on Sundays if required. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, due to the nature of the works there will be no vehicular access through the works areas and all vehicular traffic including residents and the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion routes. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising

Schedule

(a) That length of Madeira Road (D3759) West Byfleet as extends from its junction with (A245) Sheerwater Road to its junction with (D3759) Station Approach. Alternative Route – Madeira Road; Station Approach; A245 Old Woking Road; and A245 Sheerwater Road. (b) The entire length of (D3678) Hollies Avenue. Alternative Route – A245 Sheerwater Road; and Woodlands Avenue. (c) That length of Woodlands Avenue (D3677) West Byfleet as extends from its junction with (A245) Sheerwater Road to its junction with (D3678) Hollies Avenue. Alternative Route – A245 Sheerwater Road; and Hollies Avenue. (d) The entire length of (D3678) Thistledene. There is no applicable alternative route.

St Johns Hill Road (C141) Woking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of St Johns Hill Road, St Johns which extends from its junction with Barricane to its junction with Holly Close; and (b) suspend “Surrey County Council Various Roads in Woking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024” insofar as it relates to St Johns Hill Road only. This Order is required to enable Road Traffic Management Ltd to facilitate works using a crane and/or to carry out pole replacement works, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 9.30am and 3.30pm within the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 6 February 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and suspension of the Orders will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain access for emergency service vehicles to these properties.

Alternative Route – St Johns Hill Road, St Johns Road, Hermitage Road, Amstel Way (A324), Lockfield Drive (A324), Victoria Way (A320), Chertsey Road (A320), Woodham Lane (A245), Sheerwater Road (A245), Old Woking Road (B382), High Street (A247), Kingfield Road (A247), Wych Hill Lane (A247), Wych Hill, Hook Heath Avenue and St Johns Hill Road.
