Back Street Rear 105 – 131 Towngate - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(BACK STREET REAR 105 – 131 TOWNGATE, LEYLAND, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Back Street Rear 105 – 131 Towngate, Leyland from the northern property boundary at the rear of the property 127 Towngate, Leyland to the northern property boundary at the rear of the property 113 to 117 Towngate, Leyland.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Tuesday 7th January 2025 until 1700 hours on Thursday 9th January 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is not possible owing to the fact that Back Street Rear 105 – 131 Towngate, Leyland is a no through road.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new
water connection installation works to be carried out by
Network Plus on behalf of United Utilities.
