Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2025
On 03 January 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C57 Snowerhill Road Betchworth as extends from its junction with Wellhouse Road to its junction with Gadbrook Road.
Alternative Route: Snowerhill Road (C57), Tapners Road (C57), Bunce Common Toad (C58), Shellwood Road (C54), Leigh Road (C54), Middle Street (C54), Wellhouse Lane (D308), Wellhouse Lane (D308) and Snowerhill Road (C57).
This Order is required to enable SES Water to facilitate missing water meter works and/or other associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained either side of the main closure outside of Snowerhill Farm.
Sherrydon (D942) Cranleigh
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 03 January 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Sherrydon (D942) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with Ewhurst Road (B2127) to its junction with Summerlands (D942).
Alternative Route: Sherrydon, Ewhurst Road and Summerlands, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable J Browne Construction to facilitate a new water main installation and all associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 months, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Lyne Lane (D7008) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 03 January 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Lyne Lane (D7008) Chertsey as extends from its junction with the allotments south of Green Road (B389) to its junction with Lyne Motocross Track.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate renewal of vehicle restraint system and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained when safe to do so and, if necessary, via the signed diversion route.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained via the signed diversion route. Alternative Route – Green Road (B389), Millhouse Lane (B388), Thorpe Road (B388), Chilsey Green Road (A320), Bell Bridge Road (A320), Guildford Road (A320), Holloway Hill (B386) and Longcross Road (B386), or this route in reverse.
Church Street (B2033) Leatherhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 03 January 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (a) Church Street (B2033) Leatherhead as extends from its junction with The Crescent (B2122) to the southern boundary with the property known as 51 Church Street; and (b) The Crescent (B2122) between its junction with Church Street and its junction with Russell Court (D2636).
Alternative Route: The Crescent (B2122), Epsom Road (B2122), Leatherhead By-Pass (A24) and Dorking Road (B2450), or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate major gas works for, or on behalf of SGN.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 months between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 15 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Broadmead Road (A247) and Send Road (A247) Send Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 03 January 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1), 14(5) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to
(a) Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Broadmead Road (A247) and Send Road (A247) Send as extends from its junction Send Marsh Road (B368) to its junction with High Street (A247/B382); and
(b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council (Clay Lane Jacobs Well) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 1986” insofar as it relates to the alternative route.
Alternative Route: A247 (Send Road, Send Barn Lane, Clandon Road and The Street), A25 and A246 (Epsom Road), A3100 (London Road and Clay Lane), Clay Lane, A320 (Woking Road, Guildford Road and Egley Road) and A247 (Wych Hill Lane, Kingfield Road and High Street), or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing works and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Hollow Lane (D282) Abinger
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 03 January 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hollow Lane (D282) Abinger as extends from its junction with Friday Street (D283) to its junction with Abinger Lane (C43).
Alternative Route: Abinger Lane, Raikes Lane, Guildford Road (A25) and Hollow Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate ditch restoration works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists maintained at all times.
Hillhouse Lane (D185) Cranleigh
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Hillhouse Lane (D185) Cranleigh.
Alternative Route: A281 (Guildford Road) and Cooks Hill, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Network Plus to facilitate electrical and all associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 week, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 February 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Church Lane (D226) Shere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Lane (D226) Shere as extends from its junction with (D226) The Square and for a distance of 16 metres in an easterly direction along Church Lane.
Alternative Route: Church Lane, Church Hill, The Spinning Walk, Shere Lane, and The Square, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate essential gas works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 7 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 29 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no vehicular access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Lyne Road (D3180) Virgina Water
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Lyne Road (D3180) Virgina Water as extends from its junction with (C127) Bridge Lane and to its junction with the access to the property known as “Eden Farm”.
Alternative Route: Bridge Lane, Trumps Green Road, and Lyne Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required for tree cutting from overhead powerline cabling works for, or on behalf of A Cut Above Surrey.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Burys, Moss Lane, and Great George Street, (D5420) Godalming
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Management Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of,
(a) The Burys (D5420) Godalming as extends from its junction with (D5420) Great George Street and (D5420) Moss Lane to its junction with the entrance/ exit of “Crown Court Car Park”;
(b) that length of Moss Lane (D5420) Godalming as extends from its junction with (D5438) High Street to its junction with the entrance to the property known as “Moss Lane School”;
(c) the entire length Great George Street (D5420) Godalming from travelling in any other direction other than southwards;
(d) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Godalming (Moss Lane and Great George Street) (One Way Traffic and Revocation) Order 1979” or made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the lengths of roads specified in Parts (b, and c) of this Notice. Alternative Route: High Street, (A3100) Flambard Way, Bridge Street, and The Burys.
This Order is required to allow construction works and/or any other associated works to be carried out for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, within the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 February 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure and prohibitions, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
For part (a): Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
For parts (b, and c) The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
The Green (C47) Ewhurst
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of The Green (C47) Ewhurst as extends from its junction with (D276) Plough Lane to its junction with (D276) Gadbridge Lane.
Alternative Route: The Green, Somersbury Lane, (B2128) Horsham Road, (B2127) Ewhurst Road, (B2127) Bookhurst Road, (B2127) Cranleigh Road, and The Green, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate a safety working zone to undertake traffic calming measures for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday only, within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 03 February 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route.
All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Croft Road (D5427) Godalming
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Croft Road (D5427) Godalming as extends from its junction with (D5427) South Street to its junction with Public Footpath No.26 Godalming (also known as T11087 Butts Lane Townpath).
Alternative Route – Croft Road; Holloway Hill; A3100 Flambard Way; Brighton Road; and Croft Road; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Croft Road (D5427) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects that length of road specified and described in part (a) to this Notice.
The Order is required to allow new mains water connection works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Thames Water within the length of road described in this notice.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 7pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 28 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, all other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Aarons Hill (D5424) Godalming
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Aarons Hill (D5424) Godalming which extends from its junction with Ock Way to the eastern property boundary line of No.11. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate disconnection works and/or water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 4 days, between 8am and 6pm within the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties.
Alternative Route – Ock Way and Aarons Hill.
Various Roads in Cranleigh and Ewhurst
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 8 January 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.

1. that length of D192 Barhatch Road, Cranleigh which extends from its junction with Barhatch Lane to its junction with Bookhurst Road. Alternative Route – D191 Amlets Lane, D182 Horseshoe Lane, B2128 High Street and B2127 Ewhurst Road;
2. (a) the entire length of D192 Windmill Plain, Ewhurst; (b) the entire length of D192 Horseblock Hollow, Cranleigh; and (c) the entire length of D192 Barhatch Lane, Cranleigh. Alternative Route – C46 Mill Hollow, C46 Pitch Hill, C46 Shere Road, B2127 The Street, B2127 Cranleigh Road, B2127 Bookhurst Road and D192 Barhatch Road.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2) Public Footpath No. 12 (Guildford)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 12 (Guildford) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made on the grounds of public safety due to damage to the bridge. The Order came into operation on 26 July 2023.
It was due to expire on 5 January 2024 but was continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 5 January 2025.
It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for a second time until 5 January 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 12 (Guildford)/T706 Beech Grove Footway at Park Barn railway footbridge (Grid ref: 497521, 150187) between Footpath 12 Guildford/T706 Beech Grove Footway at the rear of the Tesco Superstore, and Greville Close.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements.
Access to properties will not be affected. The alternative route around the closure from southern end of the closure is: Proceed in a westerly direction along T706 Beech Grove Footway (the path behind Tesco) to reach Egerton Road.
Turn right onto Egerton Road and proceed in a northerly direction to the roundabout. At the roundabout, turn right onto Southway and proceed in an easterly direction to the junction with Greville Close.
Turn right onto Greville Close and proceed in a southerly direction to the northern end of the closure.
The alternative route around the closure from northern end of the closure will be the reverse of the above.
