What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF RIVERSIDE ROAD, ST ALBANS)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Riverside Road, St Albans from its junction with Cottonmill Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 58m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cottonmill Lane, Old London Road, A1081 London Road, Approach Road, Cornwall Road and Riverside Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CROSS LANE, HARPENDEN)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cross Lane, Harpenden from its junction with A1081 St Albans Road north eastwards to its junction with East Common, a distance of approximately 375m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A1081 St Albans Road, Limbrick Road and East Common.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CRAVELLS ROAD, HARPENDEN)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cravells Road, Harpenden from its junction with Dickinsons Field south westwards to its junction with Loire Mews, a distance of approximately 63m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cravells Road, Southdown Road, Walkers Road, A1081 St Albans Road and Cravells Road.

The Order is needed because the repair or replacement of existing handrails and guttering is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN REDBOURNBURY LANE, REDBOURN)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Redbournbury Lane, Redbourn from its junction with A5183 Redbourn Road north eastwards to its junction with Beesonend Lane, a distance of approximately 357m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS. 1-61 HIGH STREET, HARPENDEN)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos. 1-61 High Street, Harpenden from its junction with B652 Station Road north westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B652 Station Road, Victoria Road, Bowers Way, Sun Lane and A1081 High Street.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROTHAMSTED AVENUE, HARPENDEN)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rothamsted Avenue, Harpenden from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No. 27 Rothamsted Avenue south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 35m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Rothamsted Avenue, Salisbury Avenue, Townsend Lane, Maple Road and Rothamsted Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN ST ALBANS)

ORDER NO. 4 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:

  1. That length of Grimston Road, St Albans from its junction with B691 Victoria Street south eastwards to its junction with Flora Grove, a distance of approximately 91m.

    • Alternative route: B691 Victoria Street, Beaconsfield Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Camp Road, Breakspear Road, and Flora Grove.
  2. That length of B691 Victoria Street, St Albans from its junction with Grimston Road north westwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 54m.

    • Alternative route: Grimston Road, Flora Grove, Breakspear Road, Camp Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Beaconsfield Road, and B691 Victoria Street.
  3. That length of B691 Stanhope Road, St Albans from its junction with B691 Victoria Street north eastwards to its junction with Granville Road, a distance of approximately 53m.

    • Alternative route: B691 Victoria Street, Beaconsfield Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Camp Road, Breakspear Road, and Flora Grove; or Grimston Road, Flora Grove, Breakspear Road, Camp Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Beaconsfield Road, and B691 Victoria Street.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ALEXANDRA ROAD, ST ALBANS)

ORDER NO. 2 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Alexandra Road, St Albans from a point in line with the western boundary of No. 46 Alexandra Road north westwards to its junction with Inkerman Road, a distance of approximately 27m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Alexandra Road, Alma Road, Bedford Road, and Inkerman Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 16 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
