What is happening?

(Bridgeway 19, Saffron Walden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Bridgeway 19, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford for a distance approximately 35 metres southeast of its junction with footpath 37 Saffron Walden for approximately 70 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 20 January 2025 to 20 June 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and the workforce while the widening of the existing Bridleway to incorporate an equestrian holding area to enable safe crossing of the proposed spine road.
The alternative route will be via a made path of Type 1 with timber edgings.
The Order will come into effect on 20 January 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.
(Chickney Road, Debden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chickney Road, Debden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Sibleys Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd February 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX044102521378 – Affinity Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on-site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while investigation to find leak works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Crow Street, Mill Road, Thaxted Road, Broxted Road, Park Street, Town Street, Watling Street, and vice versa (with access only into Chickney Road, High Street, Henham Road).
The Order will come into effect on 16 January 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Dunmow Road, Great Easton)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dunmow Road, Great Easton in the District of Uttlesford for a distance of approximately 245m south southwest of its junction with Duton Hill Road for a distance of approximately 80m in a south westerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd February 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410251384 – Affinity Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on-site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pipe relay works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Mill End, Town Street, Watling Street, Newbiggen Street, Walden Road, Great Sampford Road, Thaxted Road, Hill Road, Finchingfield Road, Hawkins Hill, Sampford Road, Brent Hall Road, The Green, Bardfield Road, Finchingfield Road, Bridge End, Bridge Street, Vine Street, High Street, Dunmow Road, Oxen End, Dunmow Road From Lindsell To Duck End, Dunmow Road From Bran End To Broadway, The Broadway, Church End, Church Street, Lime Tree Hill, Beaumont Hill, Dunmow Road and vice versa (with access only into Dunmow Road).
The Order will come into effect on 16th January 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(George Street, Saffron Walden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Uttlesford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the restriction will be in force.
"The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 16th January 2025, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Langley Road, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, for a point approximately 85m north west of its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th February 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30031892252 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while electricity supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Mill Lane, Stickling Green, Arkesden Road, Clatterbury Lane, Main Street, Hampit Road, Bridge Green Road, Duddenhoe End Road, Beards Lane, Coopers End Road, Woodmans Lane, Langley Road, Cogmore, Upper Green Road, Valance Road and vice versa (with access only into Langley Road).
The Order will come into effect on 16th January 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Main Street/Clatterbury Lane, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 40m northwest of the junction of Wicken Road for a distance of approximately 95m in a south easterly to south westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Wicken Road, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction of Main Street for a distance of approximately 60m in a north easterly then south easterly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 3rd February 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFNP669MSB/BC008WFNP669MSB01/BC008WFNP669MSB02 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 90m north west of its junction with Ashdon Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th February 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410255947 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Royston Road, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 45m north west of its junction with Duck Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th February 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410254416 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
