(Off-Street Parking Places)

Traffic Regulation Order 2013 (Amendment No.*) Order 202* NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make an Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which would introduce electric charging bays in the various off-street car parks within Lewes district. A copy of the draft Order, plans showing the car parks and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing the Order can be viewed in Reception, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St. Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE on Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.

The proposed restriction would enable electric vehicle users to have access to specific parking in EV charging bays in the car park that would be enforceable. Outside of the restricted days and hours the use of the EV charging only bays will be unrestricted.

Any person wishing to make an objection or other representation concerning this proposal must do so in writing, together with the grounds on which it is made, to Communities, Economy & Transport, Parking, B Floor, West Block, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes, BN7 1UE or by email to TROs@eastsussex.gov.uk quoting ref TRO/509 clearly stating which location your comments apply to and they must arrive no later than 31 January 2025.

The East Sussex (U5996 Spatham Lane, Westmeston)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Spatham Lane – from the junction with C71 Folders Lane East to Loan Oak Farm.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C71 Folders Lane East – B2112 Common Lane, North End, High Street – B2116 Lewes Road – U5996 Spatham Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7403 Layby Old A22, Halland)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Layby Old A22 – from the junction with A22 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7403 Bradfords Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Eastbourne Road – U7403 Bradfords Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13 January and 2 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C331 Church Lane, Ripe)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Lane – from the junction with C331 The Street to the junction with U7045 Church Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C331 The Street – C13 Mark Cross Lane, Mill Lane – B2124 Lewes Road – A22 Holmes Hill, Golden Cross – C207 Chalvington Road – C331 Church Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:30hrs on 15 and 16 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U5824 Telscombe Cliffs Way, Telscombe Cliffs)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow MBNL to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Telscombe Cliffs Way – from the junction with A259 South Coast Road to the junction with U5853 St Peters Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 South Coast Road – U5861 Sutton Avenue – U5916 Roderick Avenue – U5845 Heathy Brow – U5931 Ambleside Avenue – U5921 Kirby Drive – U5824 Telscombe Cliffs Way and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 and 11 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (A22 Uckfield Bypass, Uckfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Uckfield Bypass – from the junction with A22 Copwood roundabout to the junction with A22 Little Horsted roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Uckfield bypass, Eastbourne Road – B2192 Heathfield Road, Lewes Road – B2102 High Street, Framfield Road, Blackboys Road, The Street, Hammonds Green, Bird in Eye Hill, Framfield Road, New Town, High Street, Bell Lane, Bell Farm Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs on 10 and 11 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C411 Station Road, Hailsham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Station Road – from the junction with U7210 Bellbanks Lane to the junction with U7213 Swan Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic southbound via C411 Station Road – A295 George Street, North Street, High Street – C718 Market Square, Market Street, Mill Road, Old Swan Lane – C411 Station Road and northbound via C411 Station Road – C718 Old Swan Lane, Mill Road, Market Street, Market Square – A295 George Street – C411 Station Road.

The Order commences 13 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13 and 20 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (A22 Uckfield Bypass/Eastbourne Road, Little Horsted, Uckfield/Halland) 

(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Uckfield Bypass/Eastbourne Road – from East Sussex National Golf Club to Layby Old A22.

The Order commences 28 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 28 January and 15 February 2025.

The East Sussex (U7803 Southridge Rise, Crowborough)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Southridge Rise – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7803 Harecombe Rise – Southridge Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 27 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 31 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7576 Rotherfield Lane, Mayfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Rotherfield Lane – from the junction with A267 Argos Hill to the junction with C14 Station Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Argos Hill, Tunbridge Wells Road – C14 Tunbridge Wells Road, High Street, Station Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 27 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 29 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U5497 Blatchington Road, Seaford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Blatchington Road – from the junction with U5497 Broad Street North to the junction with U5445 Avondale Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5497 Broad Street North – A259 Sutton Park Road – U5445 Avondale Road and vice versa. The Order commences 28 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 and 30 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7467 Eridge Road, Groombridge)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Eridge Road – from the junction with U7468 The Forstal to the junction with U7467 Park Corner Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for the duration of the works via U7467 Park Corner Lane – C70 Broadwater Forest Lane – A26 Eridge Road – U7468 The Forstal and vice versa. The Order commences 24 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 16:00hrs on 24 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C11 Hastingford Lane, Hadlow Down)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Hastingford Lane – from the junction with C483 Fordbrook Hill to the junction with U7580 Stocklands Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C270 Five Chimneys Lane – A272 The Toll, Pound Green, High Street, Station Road – C402 Hurstwood Road, Chillies Lane – A26 Uckfield Road, Beacon Road – C254 Sheep Plain, Hurtis Hill – C11 Fermor Road, Walshes Road, Hadlow Down Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 and 31 January 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. Temporary Road Closures

Yew Tree Lane – from the junction with B2100 Catts Hill to the junction with A267 Tunbridge Wells Road.

Diversion via B2100 Catts Hill – A267 Mayfield Road, Tunbridge Wells Road and vice versa.

Spout Hill – from the junction with B2100 Station Road to the junction with C407 Town Row Green.

Diversion via C407 Town Row Green, Cowford Bridge Lane – C12 Eridge Lane, North Street – B2100 High Street, Station Road and vice versa.

Catts Hill – from the junction with A267 Mayfield Road to the junction with B2100 Station Road.

Diversion via B2100 Station Road – B2101 South Street, Mayfield Road, High Cross, Bicycle Arms Road – A267 Argos Hill, Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road and vice versa.

Station Road – from the junction with B2101 South Street to the junction with B2100 Catts Hill.

Diversion via B2101 South Street, Mayfield Road, High Cross, Bicycle Arms Road – A267 Argos Hill, Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road – B2100 Catts Hill and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 27 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 January and 1 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
