THE LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC –

ACKROYD DRIVE – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets propose to make order which will prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, stopping, or proceeding, the following temporary prohibition:

Location: Ackroyd Drive, southwest from its junction with Bow Common Lane for approximately 40 metres.

Reason: For crane operation works to be carried out on the public highway by Utility Construction Ltd.

Period: Monday 24th March 2025.

Alternative Route: For vehicular traffic will be via Bow Common Lane, Portia Way, Burdett Road and Ackroyd Drive.

ACKROYD DRIVE – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets propose to make order which will prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, stopping, or proceeding, the following temporary prohibition:

Location: Ackroyd Drive, southwest from its junction with Bow Common Lane for approximately 40 metres.

Reason: For telecom works to be carried out on the public highway by Utility Construction Ltd.

Period: Monday 10th February 2025.

Alternative Route: For vehicular traffic will be via Bow Common Lane, Portia Way, Burdett Road and Ackroyd Drive.

ADDINGTON ROAD – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets propose to make an order which will prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, stopping, or proceeding, the following temporary prohibition:

Location: Addington Road at its junction with Bow Road.

Reason: For sewer cleaning. The works are to be carried out by Lanes Group.

Period: Monday 13th January 2025.

Alternative Route: For vehicular traffic will be via Caxton Grove, Malmesbury Road, Alfred Street and Bow Road.

ADLER STREET – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets propose to make an order which will prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, stopping, or proceeding, the following temporary prohibition:

Location: Adler Street between its junction with Whitechapel Road and Mulberry Street.

Please Note: Adler Street between its junction with Mulberry Street and Commercial Road and Whitechurch Lane from its junction with Whitechapel Road to Commercial Road will be used as a contingency closure.

Reason: To facilitate the safe movement of crowds at the memorial event in Altab Ali Park.

Period: From Thursday 20th February 2025 to Friday 21st February 2025.

Alternative Route: For vehicular traffic will be via Fieldgate Street, Plumbers Row, Coke Street, Weyhill Road and Commercial Road.

BEAUMONT GROVE – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets propose to make order which will prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, stopping, or proceeding, the following temporary prohibition:

Location: Beaumont Grove, south from its junction with Mile End Road to its junction with Louisa Street. Access to Louisa Street will be maintained.

Reason: For infrastructure works. The works are to be carried out by Franklin Infrastructure.

Period: Tuesday 14th January 2025 to Wednesday 15th January 2025.

Alternative Route: For vehicular traffic will be via Beaumont Grove, Maria Terrace, Eastbury Terrace, White Horse Lane, Mile End Road or Vice versa.

Location: 41 to 43 Birchfield Street (West side footway).

Reason: For development works. The works are to be carried out by MGBC Ltd.

Period: Wednesday 22nd January 2025 to Monday 21st July 2025.

Alternative Route: Will be via opposite footway.

Alternative Route: There is no alternative route as Brock Place has no through road.

CABLE STREET – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets propose to make order which will prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, stopping, or proceeding, the following temporary prohibition:

Location: Cable Street, west from its junction with Ensign Street to its junction with Dock Street. The one-way traffic order (westbound) will be suspended between Ensign Street and Back Church Lane.

Reason: For defect remedial reinstatement works to be carried out on the public highway by Thames Water.

Period: Tuesday 18th February 2025 to Wednesday 19th February 2025.

Alternative Route: For vehicular traffic will be via Back Church Lane, Commercial Road, Whitechapel High Street, Leman Street, Dock Street and Ensign Street.

Location: Cavell Street from its junction with Whitechapel Road to its junction with Raven Row.

Reason: For footway and carriageway improvement works as part of a design and delivery scheme. The works are to be carried out by the JB Riney on behalf of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Period: Tuesday 21st January 2025 to Sunday 20th April 2025.

Alternative Route: For vehicular traffic will be via Whitechapel Road, Sidney Street and Stepney Way or Whitechapel Road, New Road, Varden Street and Cavell Street.

Location: Gower’s Walk, east side of the footway for 20 metres in length.

Reason: To erect scaffolding to facilitate development works. The works are to be carried out by Colorminium London Ltd.

Period: Monday 13th January 2025 to Friday 11th April 2025.

Alternative Route: For pedestrian traffic will be via the opposite footway.
