Suffolk County - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Speed Restrictions

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE C660 THE GREEN, BURY ROAD AND BARROW ROAD, BARROW, GREAT SAXHAM AND LITTLE SAXHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • C660 The Green, Barrow

  • C660 Bury Road, Barrow

  • C660 Barrow Road, Great Saxham

  • C660 Bury Road, Little Saxham

This is to facilitate pre surfacing dressing patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bury Road, Hargrave Road Little Saxham, Chevington Road, North Hill, Great Saxham, Birds End, Barrow Road, Hargrave, Barrow Hill, The Green, Barrow and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 23/01/2025 from 8am - 4pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C698 COCKFIELD ROAD, FELSHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C698 Cockfield Road, Felsham from 610 metres east of the junction with Bury Road for 40 metres eastbound to facilitate water access point reinstatement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Felsham Road Cockfield, Great Green, Bradfield Road, Bury Road Bradfield St Clare, Water Lane, the A134, Little Whelnetham Road, The Street Little Whelnetham, Bury Road Bradfield St George, Hollybush Corner, Felsham Road Bradfield St George, Drinkstone Road, Bury Road Felsham and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 31/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C763 SOUTHGATE STREET, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C763 Southgate Street, Bury St Edmunds from 10 metres south of the junction with Sextons Meadow for 35 metres southbound to facilitate bridge repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  • Southgate Green, the A1302, Cullum Road, Westgate Street, Crown Street, Honey Hill, Sparhawk Street, St Marys Square, Southgate Street and vice versa

    OR

  • Southgate Green, Westgate Street, Cullum Road, the A1302, Southgate Green, Southgate Street, Bury Road Bury Road Felsham and vice versa

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7pm on 10/01/2025 - 5am on 11/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2803 LEVERETTS LANE, WALBERSWICK

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U2803 Leveretts Lane, Walberswick from the junction with the B1387 for 40 metres northbound to facilitate a new electrical service. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1387 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 24/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1102 MILDENHALL ROAD, WORLINGTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1102 Mildenhall Road, Worlington from the junction with Newmarket Road for 100 metres westbound to facilitate manhole repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1102, the A1101, the B1382, the B1104, the B1102 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7pm on 20/01/2025 - 6am on 21/01/2025. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2604 BARTHOLOMEWS LANE AND MILL HEATH LANE, WENHASTON WITH MELLS HAMLET

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. U2604 Bartholomews Lane, Wenhaston with Mells Hamlet from Mill Heath Road to Wenhaston Road

  2. U2604 Mill Heath Lane, Wenhaston with Mells Hamlet from Wenhaston Road to Thorington Road.

This is to facilitate surface dressing patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  1. Mill Heath Road, Back Road, Bramfield Road, Blackheath Road, and vice versa

  2. Blackheath Road, Hall Road, Wenhaston with Mells Hamlet, Hazel Lane, Thorington, the A12, Thorington Road, Thorington Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate in phases from:

  1. 20/01/2025 - 23/01/2025 from 8am - 4pm

  2. 22/01/2025 - 24/01/2024 from 8am - 4pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE U1738 GROVE ROAD, BECCLES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1738 Grove Road, Beccles to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ingate, Blyburgate, Newgate, Station Road, Gosford Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 25/01/2025 from 7pm - 5am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4629 DEVON ROAD, FELIX ROAD AND BROOMSPATH ROAD, STOWUPLAND

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • U4629 Devon Road, Stowupland

  • U4629 Felix Road, Stowupland

  • U4629 Broomspath Road, Stowupland from Devon Road to Highfield Road.

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Felix Road, Oak Road Hornbeam Road, Maple Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 10/01/2025 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1117 YAXLEY ROAD AND B1077 BROAD STREET, EYE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1117 Yaxley Road, Eye from Mile House for 100 metres north eastbound to facilitate communications pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A140, the B1077, the B1117 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the B1077 Broad Street, Eye from the junction with the B1117 Magdalen Street, Eye to the junction with the C527 Castleton Way, Eye.

It is intended that these measures will operate on 10/01/2025 from 10am - 3pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY 40MPH AND 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON PART OF THE A143 HAVERHILL ROAD, LITTLE WRATTING

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order for the following temporary speed restrictions on the following road:

  • 40mph speed restriction on the A143 Haverhill Road, Little Wratting from Blackmoor Barn for 130 metres westbound and from Hills Farm for 150 metres eastbound.

  • 30mph speed restriction on the A143 Haverhill Road, Little Wratting from the Gate Lodge for 160 metres westbound.

This is to facilitate enabling safe site movements into and out of adjacent field entrances. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that this measure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 14/02/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A140 KETTLE LANE, CREETING ST MARY AND CODDENHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • A140 Kettle Lane, Creeting St Mary from Coddenham Road to Kettle Lane, Coddenham

  • A140 Kettle Lane, Coddenham from Kettle Lane, Creeting St Mary to the A140 roundabout.

This is to facilitate vegetation clearance and ducting works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A14 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 24/01/2025 from 9am - 4pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C761 CHURCHGATE STREET, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C761 Churchgate Street, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with College Street for 40 metres eastbound to facilitate the installation of an electrical box. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bridewell Lane, Westgate Street, the A1302, St Andrews Street South, Whiting Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 24/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1067 BRAMFORD ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1067 Bramford Road, Ipswich from the A14 Overbridge to Weaver Close to facilitate the construction of Europa Way Link Road. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1067, the A1214, the A1071, the B1113, the B1067 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 28/02/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8405 WHATFIELD ROAD, ELMSETT

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8405 Whatfield Road, Elmsett from Faircroft to Berberis to facilitate a new electrical connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Elmsett Road, Naughton Road, Badger Barn Road, Manor Road, The Street, Whatfield Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 31/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C460 ASHBOCKING ROAD AND THE SQUARE, HENLEY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C460 Ashbocking Road, Henley from Pear Tree House to Flaxfields and the C460 The Square, Henley from Square House for 142 metres south westbound to facilitate access to telecommunications poles for cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ashbocking Road, Main Road, the B1078 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 21/01/2025 from 10am - 2.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1077 Westerfield Road, Westerfield from no. 1 Whitton View for 20 metres southbound to facilitate stop tap replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1077, the B1078, the B1079, the A12, the A1214 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 21/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C370 High Road, Trimley St Martin from Howlett Way roundabout for 30 metres south westbound to facilitate a new crossing and carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Howlett Way, the A14, the A154, High Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/01/2025 - 31/01/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
