Barton Road - Temporary One Way Road Closure For Essential Works

What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford intends to make the following Order in no less than 7 days under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Salford City Council (Barton Road, Swinton)
(Temporary One Way Road Closure) Order 2025

The Order will close - Barton Road one way in a southbound direction from the junction of the A6 Manchester Road, Swinton. The Order is necessary for essential works to be done.

Diversion route will be via: A6 Manchester Road - Irlams o’ th’ Height Roundabout - A580 East Lancashire Road - Barton Road.

The Order is intended to come into operation on the 27th of January 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier.

The works are expected to be completed by the 16th of February 2025. The closure will be in place 24 hours each day.

A copy of the proposed Order and plan of the area may be examined at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm inclusive.
