What is happening?

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 –
Uffington Road, Barnack, Peterborough                              Ref: 25-220

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Uffington Road, Barnack as lies between points 20 metres either side of Uffington Level Crossing. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: Uffington Road, A1175 Main Rd, Tallington Rd, B1443 Barnack Rd, Station Rd, Bainton Rd and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into force on the 11/01/2025 and will continue until the railway level crossing defect repair works have been completed or until the 10/01/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 21:00hrs and 09:00hrs from the 11/01/2025 to the 12/01/2025.

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 
King Street, Lolham, Maxey                                                  Ref: 25-182

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as King Street, Lolham, Maxey as lies between points 20 metres either side of Lolham Level Crossing. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: via B1443 King St, West St, Glinton Rd, Helpston Rd, A15, Maxey Rd, High St and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into force on the 12/01/2025 and will continue until the railway level crossing maintenance works have been completed or until the 11/01/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 23:00
12/01/2025 and 06:00 13/01/2025. BR2

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 –
High Street, Fletton, Peterborough                                      Ref: 25-218

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as High Street, Fletton, as lies between Milton Road and Duke Street. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative routes for vehicles affected by this order are via: (DIV 1)- Westbound: Northbound A605 Whittlesey Road, Fletton Avenue, A15 London Road, Town Bridge, Rivergate, turn at Bourges Boulevard Roundabout 37, Southbound Rivergate, Town Bridge and A15 London Road. (DIV2)- Eastbound: A15 London Road, A605 Fletton Avenue and Whittlesey Road. The proposed order will come into force on the 12/01/2025 and will continue until the new electrical installation works have been completed or until the 11/01/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 08:00 and 18:00 on the 12/01/2025 only.

Guntons Road, Newborough, Peterborough                       Ref: 25-228

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Guntons Road, Newborough, as lies between Soke Road and B1443 Thorney Road. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: B1443 Thorney Road, A16 Spalding Road, A47, Newborough Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 19/01/2025 and will continue until the new water mains connection works have been completed or until the 18/01/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs on the 19/01/2025 only.

of Through Traffic Order                                                       Ref: 25-229

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Glinton Road, Helpston as lies between points 20 metres either side of Helpston Level Crossing. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: Glinton Rd, Maxey Rd, High St (Maxey), Maxey Rd, A15, Helpston Rd and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into force on the 19/01/2025 and will continue until the railway level crossing annual test works have been completed or until the 18/01/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place overnight between 23:00hrs and 06:00hrs from the 19/01/2025 to the 20/01/2025.

Marholm Road, Stamford Road, High Field Road, Ufford,
Peterborough                                                                         Ref: 25-230

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the roads known as Main Street, Marholm Road, Stamford Road, High Field Road, Ufford, as lies between King Street and Walcot Road. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above roads. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: King Street, B1443 Helpston Road, Barnack Road, Station Road, Bainton Road, Stamford Road, Walcot Road, Main Street and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 20/01/2025 and will continue until the high friction surfacing works have been completed or until the 19/01/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 08:00hrs and 17:00hrs from the 20/01/2024 to the 21/01/2025.

Thorney Road, Peakirk, Peterborough                                 Ref: 25-231

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Thorney Road, Peakirk as lies between points 20 metres either side of Folly Bank Level Crossing. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: B1443 Thorney Rd, Werrington Bridge Rd, Glinton Bypass, B1443 Lincoln Rd, High St, Peakirk Rd, St Pegas Rd and vice versa.The proposed Order will come into force on the 23/01/2025 and will continue until the railway level crossing annual test works have been completed or until the 22/01/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs from the 23/01/2025 to the 24/01/2025.

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order –
Ploverly – 2025                                                                     Ref: 25-214

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Ploverly, as lies between 55-57 and 68-69 Ploverly. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order is: around Crowhurst in direction of numbers 33, 40, 37 and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into operation on 20/01/2025 and will continue until the new duct installation works have been completed or until the 19/07/2025, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between 20/01/2025 and 22/01/2025.
