What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC000141590727: The City of Manchester (Manchester Road, Chorlton Ward)(Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Manchester Road, Cycle lane closure from its junction with Nicholas Road to up to and including Barlow Moor Road and Wilbraham Road Junction and from its junction with Cheltenham Road in a northern direction for 30 meters. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate repairing defects in the cycleway of the cyclops junction. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 20th January 2025 to the 2nd February 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 20th January 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 9th January 2025. ORDER NO. MCC000141590211: The City of Manchester (New Bridge Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary No waiting and No Loading) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict vehicular traffic on New Bridge Street and New Bridge Street Slip Road. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate safety measures. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 20th January 2025 to 19th July 2026. The order shall come into operation on 20th January 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If the restriction ends within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
