THE A1 TRUNK ROAD STAMFORD TO GRANTHAM - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) AND (7) THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (STAMFORD TO GRANTHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS) ORDER 2025 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A1 Trunk Road, between Stamford and Grantham, in the Counties of Lincolnshire, Rutland and Leicestershire to enable resurfacing and maintenance works to be carried out. The effect of the Order will be to close any layby adjacent to the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A1, from the centreline of the A606 Empingham Road overbridge at Stamford, to the centreline of the A607 Harlaxton Road underbridge, at Grantham. The layby closures will be carried out on weekdays only between 14:00 hours and 06:00 hours and are expected to start on Monday 20 January 2025 and continue for approximately three months. The Order will come into force on 13 January 2025. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, vehicles being used in connection with the works and vehicles being used for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
