WEST BERKSHIRE - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING multiple notices

What is happening?

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING

HAS MADE NOTICES FIRST (WATER STREET, HAMPSTEAD NORREYS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 The Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Water Street in Hampstead Norreys between its junction with Newbury Hill and its junction with Unnamed Road from Ilsley Road to Newbury Hill. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Newbury Hill, Unnamed Road from Ilsley Road to Newbury Hill and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out sewer cleaning and CCTV works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 14th January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30 on 14th January 2025.

(BLANDYS HILL, KINTBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Blandy’s Hill in Kintbury between its junction with Laylands Green and its junction with Forbury Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Forbury Lane, Unnamed Road from Holt Road to Tinkers Corner, Holt Road, Newbury Street, Station Road, Inkpen Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Gigaclear to clear blockage in carriageway and verge. The proposed Order will come into effect on 15th January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 15th and 17th January 2025.

(STONEY LANE, ASHMORE GREEN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Stoney Lane in Ashmore Green between property known as Hillcrest and property known as The Barn. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Stoney Lane, Ashmore Green Road, Bowling Green Road, Tull Way, Turnpike Road, Stoney Lane and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for SSE to work on overhead power lines. The proposed Order will come into effect on 16th January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 08:30 and 16:30 on 16th January 2025.

(SALISBURY ROW, HUNGERFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Salisbury Row in Hungerford between its junction with Atherton Road and its junction with Priory Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via High Street, Bridge Street, A4 Charnham Street, A4 Strongrove Hill, A4 Bath Road, A4, A4 London Road, A346 Salisbury Road, A346 Salisbury Hill, A346 Salisbury Hill Road, A346 Cadley, A346 Leigh Hill, A346 Burbage Bypass, A338 Grafton Road, A338 Wilton Road, A338 Grafton Road, A338 East Grafton, A338 Middle Road, A338 Piccadilly Crossroads, A338 Carvers Hill, A338 Mill Lane, A338 Salisbury Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Wales and West Utilities to lay a new gas service. The proposed Order will come into effect on 12th January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will only be in place on 12th and 19th January 2025.

LAST (LOWER DENFORD, HUNGERFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Lower Denford in Hungerford between its junction with Hungerford Road and its junction with A4 Bath Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via A4 Bath Road, Station Road, High Street, Hungerford Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to fix damaged fence panel. The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 27th and 28th January 2025.

(NEWBURY STREET, LAMBOURN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Newbury Street in Lambourn between its junction with High Street and its junction with Foxbury. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Oxford Street, Mill Lane, Newbury Street and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out sewer cleaning. The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th January 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 22:00 on 27th January and 05:30 on 28th January 2025.

(HERMITAGE FOOTPATH 16, HERMITAGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2025 The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any use of the following footpath, namely Hermitage Footpath 16 in Hermitage, from its junction with Marlston Road to its junction with Yattendon Road. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by the Order is via Yattendon Road, High Street, Marlston Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the footpath, namely for Volker Highways to carry out footpath improvement works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th January 2025 it is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 27th January and 10th March 2025. The Order shall remain in force for a period of six months or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
