What is happening?
Temporary Closure of Brandy Row, Chiswell, Portland
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BRANDY ROW, CHISWELL, PORTLAND for its entirety.
The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2 January 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 March 2025. This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to install new main and associated apparatus.
On this occasion there will be no alternative route.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
Temporary Closure of B3143 Factory Lane, Duntish
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3143 Factory Lane, Duntish from junction with B3146 and C19 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 970 metres.
The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 20th January 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 7th February 2025.
This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to install fibre infrastructure.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
